Thanks guys! I now sit on 33x10.5's. They fit and I have complete steering, but I have yet to take her off road. Without having longer bumpstops, i'm sure I will bottom out on the fender. New gears are hopefully getting put in
in January, depending on the time and money.







I love my Tailbone. It weighs less than most tire carriers, got good recovery points, looks great...

I love that size. The 33x12.5's often look balloon-y, and you shed a small amount of unnecessary weight by going narrower.

Agree, besides looks I don't see much of a reason to go 12.50s. Wish more companies made 10.50s

Agreed. I know General makes the Grabber in a 10.50, but besides that, there aren't many options.


On a side note, I'll be putting about 250 miles on the Jeep tomorrow with the 33's. I installed a separate transmission cooler to help with temps, but i'm interested to see what my mpg's will drop to while climbing up the Rockies. They were around 23 mpg on the 30" Coopers. I'm prepared to be disappointed.

I averaged 18.6 mpg's (figured using Google Maps) on the 33's! I find that really surprising. But it struggled to climb passes and stay in one gear, so the 4.56's are going to happen soon.




I also took it wheeling and discovered that bumpstops in the rear are necessary.

I installed the 8.25 with Liberty discs, and the stopping is incredible! So much better than stock! Now i'm taking this to get 4.88's put in tomorrow! Can't wait for the power to improve! I'll get thorough testing with the 265's soon; I'm driving 250 miles of mountain passes immediately after for spring break.

Long story short: 33's, 4.88's, and Colorado are a perfect match!

And I pulled of an amazing 21.8 mpg while hauling *** over the Colorado mountain passes! Serious win!

First, I got 23.8 mpg on a trip I took the other day! Freaking amazing!

this is a crazy amount of flex for 33's without trimmed fenders. I never bottomed out on the fenders at all.

rear disc swap should offer no real braking gains over well adjusted drums, so your drums were probably not adjusted correctly. nice upgrade either way.

Efficiency has always been top priority with it. It's a daily driver first, and a wheeling rig second. I just never expected it to be even half this good!


Yeah I was left with the option to either rebuild the drum brakes or replace it all. Being that I hate drum setups, I went this way. But yeah, the only real gain is being able to change brakes easier. And thank you!
