Well with the new baby and other things I haven't had much time to work on it. Last weekend I did fire it up after a long time. Found out the cap and rotor were toast. Where the coil wire plugs on the cap had cracked that brunt away/melted a hole. My surprise it started and ran like that lol. Spare parts fixed that. I need to replace my o2 sensor since my driveshaft ate the wires so I can adjust my tps as since my h.o. swap I have had a very low idle and wont stay running with out a touch of gas pedal all the time. Two footing it suck in traffic. Still need to make a rear bumper. Im holding off on doing the thing to the rear till I get brake lines so I don't rip anything apart.

Well over the weekend I put my o2 in and got the wires up out of the way and the litle clip on my knock sensor so it wont wiggle loose. It drives again. Still needs work lol but driving.

Since I was last to leave today I got to play on the ramp at work. It also gave me a chance to see if any of my front end work hepled out or not. Im very happy with the outcome so far I need to figure out front bumpstops as im real close to bottoming out my shocks. which is the next step I might go a little more then need be with the 33's as I on the search for some cheap 35's. Ill quite talk and on to pics since most just look at them anyways and dont respond.

Before flex shot.

After flex shot

How close the tire comes to fender.

Not full rub up good idea of close thing are.

Shock angle side view. Some were worried my homemade bar pin enlimintors would cause odd noises. No noises and pops and rides smooth.

Front view is great too.

Well I was going to go wheeling this weekend on some new trails opening up. But I lost brakes this morning on my way in to work. Which believe me not fun at least I was close to work. So I get to figure out what went wrong I believe it could be the older wheel cylinder but need to check it out.

No brakes, if you haven't done it already, you should up-grade your booster while you are fixing them. Love your XJ, subscribing to you build thread.

So you still have a single diaphragm booster. With bigger tires I swapped in a '95 XJ brake booster (dual diaphragm). Now my I have great brakes on my "91 XJ. Before that emergency stops were very scary. If I keep going with the whole 4 wheeling seen I will seriously look into a wj knuckle and brake upgrade, but for now I like where my XJ sits.

Been reading up on the duel diaphragm. I will at some point if my booster isn't the problem it stoped fine before the lost of my brakes. With disk brakes in the rear it will stop better. Then once I go with the duel diaphragm booster I will be set.

Changing out the booster is pretty simple, I got my booster and master brake cylinder for $20 and the salvage yard and about $7 for a hard line that has the correct fitting for the master cylinder on both ends and just had to cut it in half and fab the other end with the fitting for the proportioning valve. After doing a complete over haul on the brakes front and back I think the hardest part was bleeding the breaks when I was done. I used the harbor freight brake bleeding kit which has a nice reservoir bottle that keeps the reservoir from running dry during the job.
I want to install a Ford 8.8 with disc/brakes next winter. Man the things I would like to do to my rig seems to never end. I can't wait till June so I can hit some trails.

I here yeah ya on the never ending list. Also I know the booster swap is simple already done one. I haven't checked to see what is wrong yet busy with family things. Im going to check it out today and bring the wheel cylinder I have if thats what is wrong. If it is the booster its going to sit at work till next weekend till I get paid and can hit up the junkyard.
and just checking my app I use for whats in the junkyards in my area there is only 2 95+ xjs and a good handful wjs. So a wj booster is easier to get at the moment.

My best coarse of action is to do a brake job on the rear end and pick a decent drum for the JY to get it driving safe again then I need to fix my girls ZJ (simple fix). Then im going to do my ZJ rear disk swap and just get rid of the drum brakes completely and not look back. And since I will have the diff cover off I might weld it up too. Its a d35 so sooner or later it will blow up anyways. Was thinking of some sort of diff skid cover protection too but I'll see about that since the metal I got I have plans for and not sure how much of it ill use for those projects. Ill update when I get something more do or going on.

Just picked up some break shoes. Going to head up to work where my jeep has been sitting for more than a week. Im just replacing the rear shoes and maybe a wheel cylinder. To get it home. Then I will be putting on the zj disk brake swap since I have everything now for the swap well to be honest I have had everything for a litlle bit. Just not confident in taking the alxe apart just one thing I haven't done yet so I him and haw about till I just dive in. I have read the couple write ups on it but the difference is they were wrote up for 8.25 and I have a dana 35 but really not different in the brake set ups.
