I'll hopefully start building this weekend.

That's a nice setup you have there, Roni? Lets get the rundown.

EDIT: It's official though... I'm road tripping my XJ to CA, and we are going wheeling and shooting!
BCM is great quality, ive had nothing but good experiences with them.

Im working on an AR-10 build right now.

Mega monolithic upper/lower, rainier arms 18" barrel, rainier match BCG, geissele trigger, etc etc. For glass im going to run a Vortex Razor 1-6x24

Heres the MEGA platform.

Good call as well! I had planned on Mega receivers, but no one had anything in stock. Have only heard good things about Aero Precision, so I feel good about my choice.

Are you going rifle length gas system on this one?

Yes, it will be rifle length. Aero makes really nice stuff too, buddy just built an AR on that platform, really nice fit/finish.

Nice detour chat.
Classy look. I love the look of a bolt-action rifle. Very nice.

Not into guns, per say. But I do like to shoot, and I still have the Sig P220 I carried as a Deputy. But I'm thinking of adding a shotgun to round out the mix.

Oh trust me, I've been scouring CL. I actually found a Handler 140 on CL for 365... but now that y'all have got me lookin' for a machine with higher power, so much for that!

Good ideas man. There's a couple of supply places around here... one that bounces to mind is Airgas.
I've got a 140 Hobart and it has worked fine for me so far. Burning in my hooligan stiffeners with it currently. I bought it when I needed to do some sheet metal repairs on an old truck I had. I am a complete novice I have only ran 2 2lb spools through it so far. I have the dirt bound rear diy bumper to start on after I finish my stiffeners so we will see how it goes. Hopefully it doesn't fall off when I head to Utah in May

Its a tack driver, one ragged hole @ 100 yards when I was sighting it in and shooting 5 shot groups.

Ive shot steel targets out to about 750-800 yards with some 168-175grn Sierra Match Kings. Such a fun rifle to shoot.

lol... I'm pretty sure it will be fine man. It's not that it won't fuse metal together well, it's just that it doesn't have a very long duty cycle. Meaning you can only weld a short amount of time before letting the machine cool down. Just means you have to take more beer breaks

Youll be alright, 3/16" - 1/4 " is getting close to max thickness for a 110V machine but just take your time and make sure you burn it in nice and hot.

Are you running flux core or shielding gas? Flux core on a 110v machine is actually preferable when welding thicker material, you get a little bit better penetration.
