Kermit Build!
Well my '91 XJ Bertha is done. I really don't want to waste time tracking frame rust and other issues so I decided to get another XJ and make one great one between the two.
So, here is Kermit!
But before I can start building Kermit up, I need to get all my parts off of my last XJ... So I am off to strip lift, bumpers, sliders, skids, tires and anything else thats bolted on off of my old XJ. Heck, probably going to cut most of the good sheet metal off too just to have it for body repair metal.

Started list... and its not going well...
Started with the TC drop because of my short jack. Already snapped both bolts and cant get the studs out. ARG! But my TC skid should be strong enough to hold it until I can get down to JCR to have them pull the studs and retap the holes.
More to come as she goes...

Frame rusted out. It sucked...
Well I got most of the front off, but the LCA... Damn sleeves of the bushings are rusted to the bolts and they will not come out of the brackets. I am stuck, I have smacked the heck of it with a 15lb hammer. Guess tomorrow I will be cutting the bolts out...
Not good day...

Well after 3 hours on one bolt, I am not happy... Damn LCA bolts just will not come out, and cutting them is taking forever... Going to head out to the store as soon as a buddy gets here and get some new blades.
Not happy...

if you have an die grinder or angle grinder try a cut off wheel on the bolt head and punch it out with an air hammer....

Well at the close of day 3 of the lift...
Got all the old rear suspension... Got everything off easy, except for the shackle leaf spring bolt... Got the nut off, but the bloody hitch was in the way and I could not get the bolt out. Had to cut it, but I have spares.
Ended up putting up my rear bumper on since with the leafs out of the way, it was easier to get tot he bolts.
With luck (lots of it) I should be done tomorrow...
Old tires VS New
Rear mostly done
Like father...
Like daughter!
How youngest spent most of the day...

All done! Well with the lift...
4.5 inch lift
Adjustable track bar
Rear bumper
TC skid
Front skid
All in 4 days...
All thats left is to do the alignment, mount the sliders, and clean up the rear bumper for paint.
I am off for a long shower...

SOB...
Cant find anyone to drill out the bust bolts for the cross member... Any that will are to busy to do it today, and most of the places I have called wont touch it...
The worst part is, if I had a tap and die set I could do it myself... ARG!!!
