So the cutting started today...The front is done. Making room for the 33"s I ordered.

It's been a big week for the Joe Dirt build. Last Monday I picked it up from the shop with new 4.10 gears and then spent all my free time throughout the week cutting fenders for the 33x12x5 tires I have on order.

Here it is on the new 33's. The old 2" lift is obviously not going to cut it. Saving up for a 3 1/2" kit. I think I'll also need to cut more metal on the inside of the front wheel wells. I'd appreciate some advice and pictures from people also doing the LCG build.

I've cut enough to make plenty of room for the 33's. I really like the low center of gravity (LCG) build and found some cool stuff under that thread. I ordered extended bump stops. I might even leave it at a 2" lift. I'd love to see pictures and set up info on other people's LCG builds.

Looking good. Nice job on the fender trim, those 33s really need all the room they can get. I'll be watching to see how this LCG build comes along.

I'm liking the build...just make sure you bump stop properly if not your front fenders will be crunched and rear fender body panel will bend easily!
I didn't bump stop and wished I did...
Here's my old build
3" and 33s

That's awesome and gives me some idea where I'm going. This week will be installing the rear bump stops and new speedo gear.

Got a little more work done today. I added some Daystar rear extended bumpstops. They're not doing what I need. Still too short. ( posted some questions here)

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/bu...-build-221098/

I put in a 35 tooth speedo gear and got my speedometer working right. That was real nice. I fixed the parking brake cable and bought a set of Teraflex 4" TJ front springs off a guy on Wranglerforum.com (should net me 3' lift). I'm collecting parts for a Frankenstien lift.

I continued my parts collecting today. I got a ZJ steering system off off Craigslist for $60 from a guy who upgraded his XJ steering to something even beefier. All I need are rear leaf packs and a trackbar still. I'll probably get those new.

The lift is done. It has new 3" leaf packs and 3" Teraflex springs. It seems to be more like a 4' lift. I'm hoping it will settle. The driveline angle seems pretty extreme. I have a transfer case drop on order. Do you think it needs angle shims on the rear axle to make it right?

She getting pretty close to done mechanically. It's been a while since I've done an update. It has 3" springs (more like 4" of lift). A SYE with CV shaft. New upper and lower control arms, 4.10 gears, and 33" tires. It's running great. I still need new seats, as they're pretty bad, also bumpers and some body work
