The front steering is bent to hell as well as the control arms I'm hoping I can save the lift coils. The leafs were sagged when I got it but maybe I can do some kind of basted pack with these leafs and what's on the next one. Fortunately I can use this headliner in the next with the second sound bar so it'll be finished finally as well as the cb. I've already started planning the next and I haven't even found one yet haha

Get what you can from the inside before water and animals make a home in there.

Er...sorry for my lack of tact. I was certainly wishing you a speedy recovery last week when I read you hit that tree. If you dont mind me asking...it seemed like someone else was driving you jeep when it happened?

nope I was speeding showing off and misjudged the distance I had left to play. Slammed on the brakes and the fronts locked and I slid threw the sign into the tree. I was sober and driving to friends home from my neighbors after they woke me up at 2am. I broke my femur clean on impact from being on the brake the to "friends" were fine and ran off before the cops got there and left me in the dirt after they climbed out over me because only my door opened. I called my self the ambulance, dad, and the girl friend. Adrenaline wore off as the put me on the hard board so I was given morphine the knocked out for surgery on arrival and given 2 screws a titanium rod in My femur 28 staples for that and 6 stitches where the emts accidentally poked the bone threw. (Really can't blame him I was in a really messed up position on the ground for them to try to load me). I've been home since Tuesday now. I'm getting more and more mobile as swelling goes down but I still need a walker. My 3 yr old compares me to a turtle and said he's a hare haha. All in all I'm as good as can be. I miss the jeep and swore for 4 days it was all a dream and I broke my leg doing somthing stupid and jed was home waiting in the driveway... and that was no such luck. As soon as I can walk freely for the most part I'm going to have it dropped here and I'm going to try to pull everything use full and salvageable for the next one and to sell for the funds (trims glass motors harness's maybe etc) and the shell will go to scrap after I practice the rear cut and fold so I don't screw up the new one lol. Thank you for your concern though It is much appreciated. My family my lady and my jeep friends here at home check in all the time so I'm getting a chance to really see who is worth my time.. and it's looking like I'll have alot more time for the new build. And this also cause me to quit smoking so it's turning out more positive then negative believe it or not.

Well I'm glad you have some good people around to help out. Maybe this unfortunate event can be a positive life changing experience for you. I've seen people die from going lesser speeds. Work on healing up buddy, like you said. The jeep disease we all have can wait. Heck plan out and budget an entire build. Learn the entire xj electrical system or something lol.

That's the plan back to reading and research like I did all winter long. I'm hoping I can find a decent 5 speed. That would make me really happy. But I'm off to bed more updates to come and tomorrow I'll try to work up a build plan for the next one which will for sure be an XJ

I'm up and moving around a lot more, but still not walking without the walker.. another week or too I should be able to tear into my wreckage for salvageable parts and pieces. I'm starting to go through jeep withdraws and all the fancy rigs and even wheel hub and u joint replacements I've read about are making me jealous. Maybe I'll get a scale model to make my dream XJ then use it as a mock up for my build... hmm awesome idea!

Got the new jeep today. Needs a good amount of rust repair but the floors are solid. The interior is mint.
1998 2 door five speed.
186000 miles
4 inch Rubicon express lift
Front sway bar disconnects.
C8.25 and Dana 30 3.07 gears.
2x6 rockers already welded on.
Looks like a good base to start with especially for 800 bones
Today I'm swapping the bad front fender for a good one.

Finally finished the brakes new shoes drums hardware, calipers rotors and pads just as it started to sprinkle. And got the new oil pressure sensor screwed in. Just can't get the connector to lock on.

So the Lund visor still isn't on. But the rear was folded and the bottoms of the doors and sliders were painted. Next week I get rubber and then I'll be a happy man
I'm still trying to figure out how I want to go about patching the 3 holes under the window before winter. Bondo or new metal?
