Jed.
Let me start by saying this build is going to be slow, I bought my XJ back in early October with just over 082k on the clock and boot sized holes in the floors for a moderately priced $3500 big ones. This gave me an 4 door reliable 4x4 for me and my 3 year old monster to cruise around with in buffalo. after this winter it definitely proved its worth. with the package came a 7 year old skyjacker 4" kit the dealer optioned brush guard and tail light guards and a surco basket. the first thing i did was order a set of replacement pans from classic2current fab on ebay. while i waited for those to arrive i went to work pulling the carpet and sanding down the floor to prep for the weld and bedliner i later sprayed down to hopefully postpone any more rotting of the floors, 5 hours of cutting and welding and help from my best bud those were installed and i took that weekend to pull my seats and spray her down. then winter hit so i was at a standstill. i took the winter to read any, and everything i could on here about my XJ from the general up keep to the crazy buggies. this brings us to the thaw.... stay tuned

^ that is how he sat today. the weather has been mostly in the upper 40s the past two weeks and since i have begun removing my stock flares and brackets, sprayed my red headlight bezzles from red to black. watched a crack spider across my windshield, trimmed my front bumper caps and took stock of the accessories i compiled over the holiday season. (pic to follow) 2, 6" 100w halogen lights from rough country, a uniden bearcat, a 4' wilson antenna, scrap stainless to make an antenna mount, a basket from a grocery store demo i did in my last week of work, a second sound bar i picked up from the yard on Thursday, and other misc. things i thought might come in handy, the basket and brush guards were sold for funds for jed and his needs (not to needy yet).

Shocks are coming up on the list thats what sparked the idea to do that tomorrow. I was tempted to tack some chain to it and hang it up in a tree for the little man to play with if I can clean it up enough

Oh mannn. Thats the worst. Your jeep come out of the ocean? Things like this show me I need to learn to weld just to keep my rig alive....or lift it for that matter. Good luck buddy, if anything these jeeps teach us problem solving skills lol.

Rest In Piece
Welp, Friday night (saturday morning) poor old he'd tried to eat a tree head on at 70... I have yet to see him since the scene. I flopped out to realize I had broken my femur and called my self an ambulance. I don't remember the ride due to morphine not surgery due to anesthesia but when I came to sat. Afternoon I had a titanium rod in My thigh and two screws to keep it there.
dad sent me this last night... so now starts the recovery and the rebuild. Can't wait to see what's salvageable and what's scrappy be to fund the new one. And I need a new not so labor intensive job. So any help brainstorming on work would be helpful. But otherwise it's the same old process.. wish me luck gentleman
