Going just by the pics, looks like a failure due to debris in the bearing.
It happens sometimes, you'd be amazed how just a small amount of dust can destroy a roller bearing.

There's some vibration I've been having for a while and I'm not sure what it is. It's like a pulsing vibration at high speeds. The gear guy said he thought it was coming from my transfercase. I'll have to look into it and see what is going on.
