Default No pictures, but there was some XJ progress last night.

After a delicious dinner of bambi steak , I spent a few hours in the garage.

Cleaned first, b/c I hadn’t in a while and I hadn't seen the floor in two weeks, then I turned my attention to the lift kit.

I was a little disappointed to find that the bolts securing the lower control arms to the bracket will require some heat (or worse; drilling!) to coax free.

(It's not a big deal considering what I paid for it.)

So I moved on to something I could FINISH in one night.

And....The Passenger’s side rear leaf spring is IN.

Slider is welded, front spring hanger is done.

The front hanger is not as aesthetically pleasing as I would have liked, but it’s solid and functional.

Hope to complete the DS tonight. and get it sitting on its own weight.

Then I can weld the spring perches, and pull the axle for paint.

If my fawking differential parts ever get here (UPS LOST my first shipment) the front axle SHOULD be in this coming week.

Also, just wanted to throw a BIG thank you to Chase at East Coast Gear Supply.

Timmay recommended him to me, and I have nothing but good things to say about him.

Drivers side rear fender flare is bent (outside, in the SNOW! ), my order of heims/ brackets/ bungs from Ruff Stuff showed up in TWO days!

I can't tell you how stoked I was when I opened the mail box, and there was a flat rate box in there!

Dan, YOU ARE THE MAN.

Now if my differential parts get here tomorrow, I will have LOTS to do in the coming days.

To answer your questions:

I'm in PA, the rust is pretty common here too.

The spring sliders allow greater suspension movement, and better clearance than shackles... wait until you see the DROOP this thing has!

The only thing that droops around here is your gut.

4 link rears = teh hawtness.

Good to see the build up here .... shows people all the different things you can do if you put your mind to it.

I would LOVE to fourlink the rear... I have everything sitting here...

BUT I would love to get the XJ wheeling, and finish the big bitch for some RACING.

Yeah... after y'days race I want in.

Meh.

Doesn't excite me.

Heading out in a short bit to tackle your front axle. Expect a call in a few hours.
