Default Project work horse

Ok , on January 2008 I bought this 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0L HO, bc I needed a work suv and a mech project so I can get my inner auto mechanic going. I bought if for 2k, I think is a fair price for the shape it is. Here is a pic when new.

First mod I did was swapping a new starter bc the original one froze and well I needed one. Then I got a lil creative, I did a homemade roof rack and I had a roof mounted spare tire, but many people told me that that could hurt my mpg so I put the spare back in the back. You can see it on the top pic.

Then I got an exhaust job, put in a 2.5”HF catalytic converter and trash the muffler and put a cherry bomb style in. But after 4 month with that I got sick of it, it was too damn loud. So I swap the cherry bomb for a magnaflow turbo muffler.

and the old one

I also change the fuel filter, you can see that on the last exhaust pic,,

Then after some reading I did my airbox mod, here is the link for that. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/new-air-box-mod-887/

I then got a gift from a friend of mine, a 1” TB spacer, installed,

Also I bed line the bottom quarter panel of the xj, removing all the trimming.

..

I then remove the sides of the bush guard and kept the middle.

Ok now the epic part, I had tranny problems, so I got frustrated and decided to sell the jeep, but my dad convinced me to keep it and fix it, so I took it to my local jeep shop and it turned out to be that the tranny needed a complete rebuild, after that they found out my electrical connections are bad, and that caused the computer to die. So now its all good as new.

Since Its all good now, Ive decide to give it a good tune up, so I made my list witch you can see at this link.. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/im-making-list-checking-twice-2987/ and well on Thursday I took out the plastic thingy connecting the front fenders below the front bumper and also trim the fenders to bumper height. I also decide to take the front skid plate out and clean it up and paint it.. here are some pics of the finished product…

Ill keep up updating the thread as I go, this will be a slow but steady build. Ill appreciate all the support guys..

well, I want to upgrade my coil, cap, rotor, cables and spark plug system and the thermostat, then the oil of the differentials, and 2" lift, and later much later when I have $ and need tires Ill get some 30" or 31", some tints, spray paint it, a diff color of green, IDK, I have many plans but not so much budget, also some 6" round fogs..

they are bigger but since you have more room thanks to that bumper...then they should look awesome...

What do you mean by upgrade your coil cap and rotor? Why not just use OEM quality stuff?

MSD may work a bit better but not worth it at all for our 4.0's

The stuff before the lift should be just under 150$. Not too hard to do.
