My Wife has been getting into thrift shopping lately. So I told her I'm going thrifting for the Jeep at the local Pull-a-Part

Snagged all kinds of goodies for some side projects included another set of S-10 Leafs:

Picked up some various trim pieces and some more factory switches.

Last night I took apart my extra factory switches and rebuilt them to do some logic for me in the switches:

Finally did a cut and fold:

Also Corner cut my bumper obliviously.
Need to finish it up with some paint, but I'm happy with the results.

They aren't admittedly at a 45, had to compromise on the ride height.
That one pic looks like a terrible angle though because I had the rear flexed to get the sawzaw in there.

Repacked the hubs and bearings

I have a question about your leaf packs. It says you have a s-10 bastard back. Although the main leaf looks longer than the XJ one to me. Did you use the s-10 main leaf? I digging the setup, I've been thinking about using durango leafs myself, curious how you did yours.

My main leaf is still the XJ main leaf.
It's the XJ Main, S-10 Main, then one more XJ & S-10 leaf.
I don't remember if it was the 2nd or 3rd leafs I used under the two mains.

It lasted me 5 years no problems. However, my passenger side is sagged pretty bad now from axle wrap so I'm building another set for it:

I'll be using the XJ Main, S-10 Main, S-10 2nd, S-10 3rd, XJ Overload.

DesertFox, what kind of highway MPG are you getting with the 4.56s?

Mine is mostly a DD also and I commute roughly 60 miles a day almost all highway. I have 3.55s currently, and a set of 4.56 in the garage but I don't want to kill my highway MPG.

18 straight highway. Running 60-70 mph.
I've got a couple engine mods though that help like injectors.

That mileage is real good if you ask me. I think 4.56 gears would be a little to steep for 33's if he is concerned about mileage though.

Love your rig, hope to see some more trail pics of your Xj in action.

Well knocked out the drivers side last night.

It was not in the best shape, I think the guy I got the axle from prior to me did a trail side repair on it. The Axle Shaft Retaining Clip was missing, Sill was broken on the lockout, Dirt was inside the lock out, Bad outer Spindle Seal, & the inner seal was in pieces. Probably all because the Snap ring wasn't retaining the shaft in place. (Not to mention the abuse I've put it through since I swapped it in)

I lucked out and was able to pick up all the parts in stock by visiting a few of the local auto stores around town. Also I had my spare set of Warn Lockouts so I swapped some parts over from them.

It's all back together now.
Sorry No Pics, I started at 6pm and finished at 10:30pm by the light of my Iphone...
