So had a break in the weather, so I got on it. Took about a hour but really wasn't that bad. Only thing is tried installing my trac bar but outa the 2 I got 1 is to long for me to use.... So Ima try the other one and hope it works, but I just gotta buy shocks and I'm done other than transfer case drop and extend the break lines.

Plus got my cable for the posi lock to get rid of the vaccume disco....

So to be continued

So I was off yesterday and I was needing to work on the jeep. So got all my shocks ordered ($110 bucks for all 4!) except instead of front stud shocks their a bushing on each side. So I had to build something. I was going to build a U shape peiece of metal with 3 holes. 2 for the shock and 1 to represent the stud. But I don't have a torch or heat to bend the metal. So that was next idea if I couldn't find something.

So me and my buddy justin was looking at his spare front wagoner (I think) axle and just so happen the shock mounts work out great for a shock adapter!!! Other than the stud being off center a little it won't hurt a thing. So got it removed, (I mean he did) only thing I had to do was remove the new sleeves out of the new shock, remove shock hardwear out of old shocks and swap them over.

So untill I could take the shocks to my buddy's shop. I had time to extend my brake lines and plus I wanted to see how we'll this thing would flex and damn!!!!! For short arms I could have completly pulled a coil spring out if I wouldn't flex just a little bit more. It honestly flexed better than my old rough country lift kit that I bought.

Only thing left to do is install shocks, and redrill trac bar and it's done for the most part. Other than little stuff here and their but I'll keep y'all posted

Yea it was a lot more lift than what I was expecting lol. Rear sits up about a inch higher so I need to swap out the 2 inch block for a one inch.

Friday I'm off work and so plan is to finishing installing the windows on the dodge (swapped to a solid back glass, and I tinted the windows so I'm letting it cure before i install it.) and clean it up and have it ready for Peidmont Dragway Diesel event. Aka Rudy's Diesel.

But as for the jeep I just gotta install the shocks, redrill the trac bar and it's getting takin out Friday night for the first time! I may or may not weld the rear I'm still undecided, but ether way I'm pretty excited for Friday and Saturday! I'll try to get some more pictures posted up.

So I have question for anyone that's reading. After the build is complete I do plan on selling or trading this jeep for a something worth more and trade that back for another jeep that's inline 6.

Question is Im not sure if I want to weld it in the rear or not. What would you suggest.
Im selling it as a offroad jeep on 37's but as a buyer that see a lifted jeep, would you rather have the vehicle locked or unlocked?

Thanks

why did you do blocks in the rear in addition to the leafs?? i would imagine that is why you got so much lift.

So Friday was a busy day for me. Started on putting my shocks on, overall went pretty good and wind up not being able to use either trac bars, so I had to put the factory one back in and redrill which it's the original trac bar from 1987 an let me tell you it's more shot than ever, but for the time being I wanted to go wheelin so I threw it in their for the time being.

Drove the Jeep down the road and first thing I noticed was driveline vibration. So went to the store and made a homemade transfercase drop. Drive side went great bolt came out without a problem even the stud did to. So started on the passenger side and bolt came out and went to the stud, got about half way out and the weld broke inside that holds the bolt so I was like fu'k. So cut open the floor pan and took a ratchet and pulled the stud on out. So put everything back together and drove down the road and everything seemed good for that part anyway. Still need to realign the front even and new trac bar and should be good to go....

So 4 cylinder with 37's isn't to terrible bad on road, only problem is taking off but other than that it wasn't horrible. Offroad in 4low was actually pretty good, rode around in the trails and did great and on the way out their a big mud whole that I said heck with it ima hit the mud one time before I sell it anyway. Came up and 3/4 way up the tire but other than that it dug on through and pulled on out.....

So the problem came with the transfer case drop. It pushed the shifter to far back so eveytime I went into 2,4,R it would smack body and barly go in. So I just cut the unibody so it would work out great and after dropping the transfer case it pushed the linkage up about a inch from the transfer case so it wouldn't shift so when I went wheelin Friday night I had to crawl under it and force it into 4wd which was a pain cuz the ground was wet, but the thing you do for the sake of wheelin lol. But I had to space the bracket out from the transfer case and redrill a new hole and after that it was good to go.

So been pretty busy workin on this thang. Got the posi lock installed, haven't went wheeling with it yet, heck probably wont sine I undercoated the jeep so kinda don't wanna have to do it all again if I decide to take it out plus it was a pain in the **** to clean that WHOLE THING.

Posi Lock went good, I did more installing it and removing it before I actually tightened everything up. (Pic 2) everything worked great for about 5 minutes before the metal sleeve slide inside the square brace (I guess you can call it that). So went to tractor supply and found that little piece which solved the problem but I yet had to remove everything yet again to install that so couple hours later it was finished!

BTW PAINTED THE WHEELS IF YOU ALREADY COULDNT TELL LOL

So went ahead and loaded it up on the trailer and header over to my buddy's barn/building so I could start sanding this thing down for paint, since its starting to cool down.

But anyway had to upload a poser pic of the ol heep standing tall over the Dodge but that's about it so far. hopefully be fully finished with body prep tomorrow, So give it a coupe days Ill have yall a couple more photos to look apon!

Actually no surprisingly. Lucky it just bent the radiator brackets and being ac condenser was in front of radiator, it saved that. Just need need black grill piece and turn signal.
