Mounted my Garmin to the dash. I ran a bolt through from the other side and JB welded a nut to the back of the mount. Works like a champ. It doesn't block any of my gauges or any controls. Only thing it's in the way of is maybe a small corner of the AC vent. I am not a fan of them being on the windshield with a suction cup. It takes up my vision even if it's just a little.

I tried the Rage Gold on the driver side, and the hood. Its alright, I honostly think I like the bondo Gold better. I thought the Rage was a little more picky with the hardener. You had to get it just right in alot of cases or it would solidify before your done, or it take forever before you could sand it. But the cost savings was phenomenal. For a little bit more money than a pint of Bondo Gold you could buy a Gallon of Rage off amazon. Either product I found easier to use than regular bondo so you cant loose there.

I'm Cerakoting My Jeep In Magpul Flat Dark Earth.

I ordered a quart of C-246Q, C cure Magpul FDE, I Started last night, and got the roof and both sides done. I just need to order a little more and do the back, hood and grill. The whole thing probably will cost around 200 dollars in materials total. I'm using my spray gun I've hotrodded from Harbor Freight.

Its not perfect but its a jeep... Doing guns and doing vehicles are two totally different animals too. But I'm happy with it. I'm going to plasti dip the emblems in black and do a few other things to help it out, but that stuff is pretty tough. Its on there that's for sure.

Yea, I ran out.. I tried it on a fender last month and only used about 5tsp, but when I did the roof it was drying before I finished, so I had to up the feed... doubling/tripling the amount I was using.

I went with it because I'm familiar with it. I knew what kind of prep work is required. I'm not familiar with CARC paint. I'm sure its durable just not familiar with it. I've also never used plastidip or any of the bed lining materials. But Cerakote goes on so thin its scary at first. But its mind boggling how hard it is, as long as you do your prep work right. I did take it off roading at Superlift yesterday just a few hours after applying it. I thought for sure I'd have some brush pin striping but didn't. We also had a few thunderstorms late after noon and the water beads right off. I really need to do some more trials and only time will tell, before I say Yea its good on a vehicle. There's several who have done bumpers, headers, motorcycles, etc so I'm not worried it won't hold up. I also sanded the fender that I tested it on and it takes quite a bit of effort to sand it off.

Its a matte finish and smooth like paint. Which would be nice when choosing some of their metallic colors. It similar to the photo below to give you an idea. The Trigger guard is not cerakoted, and its original Magpul FDE.

I had just enough to do the back, no touch ups just a base spray. Glad I attempted it, cause it looks nice.

Plastidip Emblems
After cerakoting over the emblems I thought they looked kinda bland and gave my shot at plastidip. This was not as fun as I imagined it would be. But it does work and makes them look nice.

Default Emblems

Got the emblems done. The raised emblems were plastidipped and the 4.0 and the 4x4 stickers were decals I got off eBay.

The Magpul FDE paint looks great, good work. I believe my jeep will be a similar color someday.

Ripped the drums off the back last night and bought rotors & pads. Will be finishing that today. Budget's limited so I'll try to one of the following below every month.

Homebrew Cold air intake

Larger Throttle Body

Beefier tie rod

Buy a Welder

2.5" exhaust

Swaybar discos

JCR front bumper

Steelies with 33" BFGs, and I'll probably cerakote them something a little flashy

Adams driveshaft front

Finished the Drum to disk brake conversion. Brakes are mo betta. I cant stand drums, I had those on my 66 mustang and couldn't stand them then. Thanks Big David for the time and effort putting these kits together. You can check them out Here From my understanding the axles won't walk out if I snap one now too. No matter how you look at it definitely worth it.

Man I hated the drums on my xj it stopped like a school bus until I upgraded my front rotors and pads to the drilled slotted ebc kit. I never got around to swapping the rear before I sold it though. Once thing I like about my zj is discs all around. Looks good man, great addition

I completely finished cerakoting the Jeep last night. It was dark by the time I finished cleaning my airbrush so no pics yet.
