And do you build bumpers? I've been calling everyone I know that fabs and alot of guys are either not interested or charge way tooo much!

I'm looking to get some simple bumpers made...Like really simple lol.
Maybe I can pm you and see if your interested?

Well, being down and out sucks. Nothing worse than sitting at home and staring at my POS knowing i wont be able to even clean up my garage, much less put a wrench on it for awhile.

So....i got bored and downloaded this little programfrom google called scketch, its pretty cool, and i know a few of you use it on here. I just used the free version.

Well i cant wrench, but i can type, so i came up with this? what you guys think? I couldn't figure out how to make the stinger round, or "D" rings, but you get the idea.

bumper idea

I left a "flat in the middle for a winch maybe later?

that bumper looks good, and im gonna make my own diff covers. Have made a set before but im still trying to dig up the pictures, basically just lay the factory ones out on some paper, trace around it, cut it out-then stick the cutout against the diff, cut out the inside ring and woolah you have the base. Then just measure how far out the cover is at its furthest point and go to town with the plasma. Oh and nice build!

Thanks for the input on the bumper, i have had a hard time being down with a back injury..so playing on the computer and surfing here has really helped passed the time.

Soon as i get better im gonna cut/fold the rear quarters, and start on the bumpers and diff covers..still saving change for the joints for the link front end

well..the back is still not right but i got tired of sitting around.so i loaded up on some feel goods and got to work..lol

Started the cut and fold...pretty easy.still need to seal up, and make a trim panel..

then i went down to the local steel yard...scorded some fresh steel at a cheap price..only $.55 a pound, cam out to $85.bucks, and got enough for the front, rear, and maybe a cross member?

started making this.

just some cut and fit..

after some welding and grinding, to blend. Its gonna sit flush with the cut and fold rear quarters. It will stick out past the quarters a a bit.. but adds room for the rest comming..shhh its a suprise..lol

well..the meds wearing off...sore..time to go for now..hopefully 100%soon, then more to come.

edit: i will be adding some clevis mounts as well.

nice to see someone else likes my idea of turning in the rear bumper corners as apposed to keeping it square. I caught some flack about it exposing the tail lights for backing up in tight spaces (woods wheeling) but other then that, people like it. I considered going under the sides on mine, and still might eventually. thats the beauty of fabbing stuff, you can always add to it.

looking good.

i like the tucked look a bit...but undecided on what to do bout the lights them selves? thinkin of maybe fabing up some new LED boxes? and maybe throwin a taper in there where the oriinal "back up" light was..what you think?

BTW, if anyone was wonderin...back still a no go at least for fabbing stuff up for my junk...and the "honeydew" list is growing out of control...lol.gotta love being a home owner. Do these things self destruct after escrow...i mean really?!!!
