Default "Bug-Out XJ" Daily Driver '99 XJ

Lost my TJ Unlimited (LJ) to an idiot driver (guy pulled out in front of me, totalled it), always wanted an XJ, so last year I picked up a 1999 forest green limited (150K Miles). Has a bunch of minor things I havent made time to repair but the day has come.
Had a huge spider crack in the front windshield, had Safelite come out today and put in a nice new one for 260 bucks, that included the house call.
Just ordered a Rough Country 4.5X lift kit, some 33x12.50x15 Dick Cepek FC-II on Black Krawler steel 15x10 rims from Dessert Rat, and new cut-out fenders from Rustys Off-road. Plus a few other odds and ends. So I'm tottaly stoked.
Plans also include doing some bed liner on the rocker panels and probably on the roof due to a good amount of rust spots.
As it sits right now it has a 1.5 inch lift from OME, put that on when I bought it due to the fact the rear end sagged so bad my tires would rub everytime I hit a bump.
So just waiting on parts, can't wait.

Well I was lucky enough to have my father in law come over last Sunday and he wanted to help with the suspension, thank god cause of the recovery I can only do so much.
But anyhow we got 90% of the front end complete, only broke one bolt! And got most of the rear done as well.
Still waiting on tires along with some new rear shackles and the bolt that I broke, trac bar one....SOB...
Measured the front and came out to be exactly 4.5 inches taller.

What are the goals as far as the "bug-out" theme?

Planning on building some storage options in the back that will include water storage, plus removable bin style storage for a 72 hour kit, so if I gootta go I just throw it in the back and can roll, plus I live in a constant hurricane prone area, so it a good possibility...plus some exterior lighting, and power inverters wired into the cargo area, trying to keep everything inside the vehicle, and maybe an extra battery.
Plus not anytime soon but later want to add wheel well lighting.

My son likes all the "zombie outbreak response vehicle" stickers so might add one of those for him...

Sounds like a gret plan. Working on my BOV is what brought me here in the first place.

BOV are a way of life up here. It still amazes me how many people just blithely wander around in their vehicles at -40 without even a blanket or extra boots. Seriously....how can folks be so stupid?

Anyway...good start. Keep it up!
