Thanks! I like how you mounted your hi-jack lift, thinking about doing mine the same way, or putting one on the rack, but I don't want people trying to steal it up there lol.

Not much to update. Yesterday I really felt what the XJ can do in disaster situations. Tons of rain all day with lots of flooding. Had to do some deliveries at work because of the Blackhawks game, and holy mama was there alot of water. Streets turned to rivers. Got stuck at a train during one of the down pours and by the time it passed there was bumper high water level I had to gun through (kinda scary being stock and sagging). Water splashing over the hood and the serpentine belt screaming because it was drowning lol. Might need a new air filter, but I've been driving all day today so it should dry out.

I have other pics and a video on my Instagram of some of the nonsense that day.

House flooded too

Also painted my Farmer Johnsons Offroad light brackets

Not even close to what I'd driven through moments before and after

Dude, I was there last year. Here in Michigan it crapped rain for like 12 hours straight back in August 2014, I was driving in the same type of stuff all the way home. Water all the way up over the bumper. Usually takes me 40 minutes to get home from work, took me 3.5 hours that day. Got home, went down stairs and immediately the basement started flooding. It was awful, so I feel your pain. The basement cleanup sucks. Only good thing about it is we have a nice brand new basement with 3 stop valves in it. Shouldn't back up/flood again.

Yeah back in 2012 there was a BIG rain storm and we got around 4ft in our downstairs, now we have 2 subpumps but they still weren't enough. I work in Elmhurst and had to go only 5 miles away and it took over 2.5 hours cause of North ave being shut down and police w/ rafts rescuing people to thought they were brave enough.

Stiiill nothing major to update. Got a Curt reciever hitch from forum member Tate. Still have to put it on though.

Also went to my first Jeep and Greet, met some pretty coll people there. Mine was the only stock one of course

Northern Illinois Jeep & Greet

I did a little tune up as well: cap, rotor, Bosch wires, and NGK spark plugs. Can't tell a difference right off the bat, but we'll see.

Old vs. New

Idk how many miles you should change these, but they were way overdue.

Still saving up for wheels and tires, gettimg close though. Then it'll be time to lift

So I took 4 hours out of my day amd washed and waxed the Jeep. I don't think it's ever been this clean on the outside before. Sooo shiny and smooth lol. Maybe only a paycheck from each job away from my wheels and tires, lift will definitely be coming up by August.

Photos don't do it justice sadly.

Ordered my wheels and tires! (4) 32x11.5x15 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar and (4) 15x8 Unique circle window steelies with 3.75 BS. Was going to get the Black Rock type circle window ones, but I got a better deal on these, and it turns out they're the exact same wheel, just different branding for the store. Tires will be there later today and the wheels come on the 13th, but I'm paying for them on the 15th to get the $70 rebate. Perks of working at Discount Tire as a 2nd job

Also I really need to get a new exhaust. The Jeep died today randomly in a drive thru and the CEL came on. Took 2 cranks to get it started then drove fine the next 5min home. Found out the Cat is causing the Jeep to die on me.

Got the CEL code checked out. P0320, crankshaft position sensor circuit failure. Well damn. I contacted the Jeep dealership that's 10min from my house on a quote because I can only drive that far before it dies on me. Been acting up since Saturday, didn't drive it at all on Sunday. Monday it drive fine to my other job that's 5min away, but crappes out on me after sitting for 45 minutes and stalled 2 minutes into driving to my other job. Fingers crossed that that is it. Still ordering a Gibson cat back and MagnaFlow cat. Wheels and tires come next week too

From what I've gathered the cps going out is relatively common so I wouldn't be surprised if that was it. Back in the day my dad's Cherokee did the same thing.

Yup. It's toast. Been here at the dealer for 2 hours, probably be another hour and half. They found more codes after last night's incident, CEL stayed of after that. Gave me a quote of $250 for fixing the cap which came loose (my B, I think I put it on backwards ) and to dig through the engine to find any other issues. If it's just those 2 he said it'd be less $$. He just said the CPS is a pain in the *** to get to lol.

Yeah my dad's went out at a stoplight and it wouldn't start so he had to push it to a gas station and do it in their parking lot.

I Now ****ing hate dealerships. $240 to tell me what I already know and to screw on the distributor cap that came loose. They wanted almost $900 to replace the crankshaft and camshaft sensors.

Just bought the crankshaft sensor online for $35 from 1A Auto (who I think is a member here) and the camshaft sensor for $130 from 4 Wheel Parts. I'm just pissed that I let that happened. Still broken, but 240 dollars poorer.
