The Black Striker
hello im new to the forums and i just wanted to start a build thread.
i own a 94 jeep xj with 214k that i bought for just about 1k.
it wasnt in bad shape when we bought it a few dents and the guy i bought it off of drove in some road paint and im still trying to figure out how ot get it of.
it was awesome when i bought it, and i knew i was a jeep fanatic .
so far what ive done when i bought it back in november of 2012 is i swapped out the power steering pump, fan pulley, radiator, water pump and the thermometer.
it has a inline 6 4.0 in it and its 4x4. my dad is the general manager at advance auto parts and i got loads of my parts for 20% off.
atm i work full time for the summer but during the fall im going to college and part time at work. so you know how difficult it can be to juggle work and homework.

well since i havent has this thread long l show you most of the upgrades ive done so far. i had factory jeep rims that had jeep carved in the rims and i sprayed the rims with rustoleom hammer black which gave it a somewhat gunmetal look. while i was at it i sprayed my old gray mirrors my roof rack and my dome light. i was crusing the forums and loved the led dash mod so i also did that and love it. the pictures that follow is the finished result

new updates
so far this week I decided to purchase a 3in zone lift and a black zone steering stabilizer.
I am pleased to say that I have got the nitro upgrade for free thru forum vendors and also got free shipping.
thanks to rockridge4wd for the great deals.
also last night I took the body molding off my jeep.
at first it was easy the passenger side washed up perfectly but the drivers side has rubber cement and I will try and get it clean.

hey those l.e.d.s are just plug and play il give u the link the bulbs i bought. they shipped very fast. when you take the dash panel off there are a few screws, then u remove the ribbon cable. there is a circuit board on the back and u just turn and replace and its decent for the transfer case and 4wd lights. atm im going to buy more l.e.d.s for the third brake light, turn signals, and and the side markers

The best way to do it is tear out the carpet and see what else is manifesting under there. From there clean up the rust, cut out the rot, re-weld in patch panels or new floor pans depending on your wants/finances. From there id say bedline it and either leave the carpet out or re install it without the padding underneath that holds water. Its a bit of a project but in the long run your jeep will last another 10+ years when its all said and done.

new update
today we replaced the aged valve cover gasket on the jeep and changed the oil. when they took the cover off all the gasket was in pieces. after draining the oil the guys found out that i had a tcase leak and a oil pan leak so i guess im going to have to replace all those and also do my brakes.
oooooo goody more parts to buy on top of the basket ball sized hole in the rear floor pan. on top of that i wanting to replace my drag link and tie rods with new one and will buy new shackles for my lift with new shock boots.
i have decided instead of cragars i will buy jegs baja 8s they look the same as soft 8 but made by a different company.
hopefully i dont have much more to spend i already had to buy new muffler and tailpipe and now i dont sound like a freight train coming down the road. its now quite and i love it. when i took off the old muffler it had a bunch of dime sized holes in it and the tailpipe rusted off in the process
