Ajax 1988 Comanche Pioneer DD
Hey, so I moved up to Berea Kentucky with my fiance for her last year of college up here and I'm working at Hitachi automotive manufacturing and my Cherokee currently has a horrible oil pan leak so having no garage to fix it I'm gonna pay a mechanic to do it but I need something to drive while its there so I started looking up Comanches on Craigslist and I found a 1988 4x4 auto with 210k on body and 110k on the engine for $1400 so I went for it and went to check it out I'm not gonna lie its pretty rough but it can be fixed lots of dents in the bed underbody is rusted but from what I could see surface rust so I'm going for it the guy selling it said it had a 98 4.0 out of a Cherokee that the owner before him put in he started it up and it was loud(exhaust monifold not tightened down to the down pipe) so with the current issues I talked him down to $900 and he accepted I'm taking a half day from work tomorrow and picking it up around 1
I run a machine in Hitachi called a Ajax tocco it hardens and tempers shock rods so with that I felt it was only fitting that I name the manche Ajax.

Also I forgot to mention I'm gonna do a little towing and want the kinda tow truck look so I'm going to fabricate ram 2500 tow mirrors on 97+ Cherokee doors

Yeah but Idk if the frame and chassis can support the weight and torque of the engine so ill have to so some research first

Finally picked her up! as you can see by the pictures to make it a complete comanche i'm gonna have to replace some engine compartment pieces, and im assuming that the back window was broke so he replaced it with plexy glass but he gave me a good back window and the toolbox!!
