Got the new plugs in. Old ones were at .48 I set the new ones at .35. Hopefully she runs better.
Starter still isn't ready yet. I'm going to hold off on the calls till Monday.
Also got the push button set up. Used a thread on here, "98+ XJ push button". I followed what he did and added spade connections to the socket instead of cutting wires up. Also can return to key If I desire.
On a side note, saw an XJ in town with angry eyes so I think it's ok to do around here.

Had another thought today.. I believe I'm going to add underbody lights to the jeep. Could be useful if I drop something at night and don't have a light on me, or if I ever go crawling. I doubt it'll see crawl worthy area out here where I am, but should the time ever come it will be there to use. I don't have the money to go and buy those expensive lights, I'm just going to rig up a DIY version. I'm also going to install a couple lights under the hood. My work light works great... In a garage, at home, near an outlet... Side of the road, not so much.

Well, got the starter on. Finished the push button system, installed the dead man switch, cleaned it all up nice and pretty, flipped the switch, pushed the button, started right up!!!
Looked under the engine and.... Massive oil leak.
I killed the engine and had a look. Has to be the oil filter. Doesn't leak oil while sitting, just when it's running. I'm going to go look at the old filter and make sure the rubber seal is still on it. I used a pur. Filter so it shouldn't be messing up like that. My thinking is the seal is still On the engine and it simply ruined the seal. I'll keep ya posted.

Here is something I found that helped with the wiring up. Looks like most could use 16 gauge for most applications, but I'm throwing 10 just to be safe.

So I did the car fax today to see a full history on the vehicle... mainly to see if any recalls had been taken care of. I noticed that it lived its childhood out in Texas, OK, and NM for the first 7 years... that explains why it doesn't look so bad underneath as far as rust goes. From then till now it hasn't left Delaware as far as ownership goes. Also, I am the 5th owner. sooo there is that. Getting the oil leak fixed today hopefully.

Well got the oil cleaned up. Didn't stain the cement so we're good. Ended up being double gaskets which broke the seal. That just put the nail in the coffin for Fram in my book. Everything is working good now.
Next phase, get that dern bumper on.

Havnt got to work on the xj in a few days, but I did finish the work I started in the garage. Still getting a misfire on #4. Going to sea foam in the morning and see if it's just crap in the engine. I think it is since the check engine light will come on and off randomly and pop that code up. Won't hurt anyway.
I'm going to enjoy it for a few more days then park her on the jack stands to replace hubs and u bolts. She has a slight camber on the wheels and I've been in a mini bus when the hub failed. Not. Fun. I'm going to be smart and order those tomorrow and get that done and out of the way. It will be cold, but I'll be able to trust it once the snow and crap gets here.
Sooo back to my WJ for a while

Seafoam did very well for the engine. Except I now have the 300 303 and 304 friends hanging out in the engine..... Love hate relationship I guess

I made my first recover today. Not a vehicle recovery, but a chocolate lab in the middle of the road. He had a collar and was very happy so I loaded him up and started going to closest house. I met the person flying down their driveway... their dog. I remember the night my dog died being hit by a car. I just couldn't leave the dog out there. Made their night I'm sure. Anyway... Still error codes lol

Got my tie in brackets finally. Took forever to ship them, but they are here now. Playing with the fuel injectors in a few weeks to try and fix this dang misfire.

I feel like I betrayed the community... I went to a shop lol
Got tired of waiting on buddies to help me out so I just went to a shop to fix my unibody issue and install my bumper. Appointment set for next Tuesday and they are doing it all for $180
Injectors havnt been fixed yet due to the cold temps over here. The coolant looks fine though and the oil is nice and dark, no Choc milk.

Got the on board air installed. I went with a DIY route. I've tested it several times and it's worked without a hitch. I took one of those 12V compressors you get for your car at places like lowes, ace, even walgreens. Cut the hose and plugged it with a hose repair kit with the threaded tip. Attached that to a tank that has input and output connectors and there it is!
Run for 10 minutes and it gets up to 60 PSI. Let it sit and cool for another 10 and repeat the process up to 100-120 PSI. The tank goes to 160 PSI so I could run it again.
I think in going to experiment with doing two of the compressors and hook up a 2-1 adapter.
I did the wire up by hooking up a 12V plug in the cargo area. The compressor simply plugs into it and there is a master control switch by the plug. I just flip the switch and when it reaches full I turn it off. I'm kinda happy with how it's working. Getting this rig together, slowly.
