93 2 door expo/rescue build!
Well guys, since I couldent really fix my old 87 Cherokee plus it was a royal pain to actually find renix parts.. I went and bought this!
[Pics from the ad]
1993 Jeep cherokee 2 door
4.0L High output [yay easy to find parts]
NP231
Chrysler 8.25 rear axle
Dana 30 front axle
AX-15
Factory tint
A/C
AND A FACTORY TIRE CARRIER!.... bracket. The P/O said he would get the tire carrier peice from his summer home. 2 days later he called and said someone stole it So the mount on the bumper and the striker on the hatch is there.. I'll have to figure out something.
So first thing first, the tiny summer tires had to go.
and then I painted the grille and washed it aswell as added a 3ft CB antenna
First things I did with it, went on a nice 800km drive around the Cabot trail, didnt miss a beat!
[Highest point of cape breton]
So half way up the trail I had to pick up a 24ft flatbed trailer and tow it home, didnt complain one bit pulled up all the hills easily didnt over heat and I averaged 19mpg!
Then today I had to deal with all of this.
turns out my uncles a computer hoarder.
Anywho, soon to come is my lift, some bumpers, winch, and more! I'm trying to go for a expo/rescue kind of rig with this. The rescue part is because when ever ANYONE of my friends get stuck, they call me. I've seen me go out in the middle of a blizzard in a 2wd ranger to pull out my buddy in his 4x4 S10 with mud tires and everything. I guess I'm just the best at offroad driving out of our little group? :unno:

Well I did go and buy this about a month ago..
That 2 door has a 3" procomp lift, 31" bfgs, and is identical to mine in every way. But the body is shot, and there is no title for it since it's an alberta vehicle. So that will be the lift, I'm also hoping to get a roof basket for christmas and a snorkel soon. My buddy who is a profesional welder is going to see if he can make me up a small winch bumper, half doors, and a tire carrier. I'm also probually going to buy some lights next week for the bumper and A-pillars.
I also need to figure out why my blower motor isnt working. I'd check the fuse but i dont know which one it is.. yay for people loosing things. Oh and a bit more history on this jeep.
It was never ever winter driven, always stored in a garage, owned by a older german gentleman who only drove it in the summer, fall, and spring. then went home to germany in the winter, and was always undercoated.
So far I'm loving it, everything is nice and tight no clunks, pops, or anything starts up every morning. So far I've only changed the wheels and tires, put in my subs, swapped out the battery for my optima red top, and added my CB.

Renix XJ's are very scarce here, people here do not take care of their vehicles at all because they'd rather spend the money on drugs and booze, so either the engines had blown up, or they just rusted away. Plus since their not as common as the high output, people want a arm and a leg for parts. Example, throttle body for a H.O used = $10. Throttle body for a Renix used = $80. Just because their uncommon. So renix = harder to find parts for, the parts you can find cost a fortune, and no one wants to touch them because they're "too old"

Did that Cherokee Chief have a Dana 44?
Sounds more and more like you have an awesome find.

That's crazy. I could find Renix parts all day long when I lived farther upstate in NY. Of course they were rusty though. Now I live in Central NY and I haven't found any Renix XJ parts.

Well nothing really to update besides that I pulled off the trim on the doors and bought some lights for the front bumper. And my current little list of things that dont work:
Blower motor for the heater
Rear wiper
Block heater
and the gauges get stuck, but a tap on the top of the dash frees them.
This weekend I'll hopefully be putting on a glasspack to replace the crushed stock muffler.
Also does anyone have any ideas on what I could make to replace the missing tire carrier using the factory mounts?

Oops! I've been slacking a bit. but over the past week i did get alot done to the XJ.
found a old tube push bar and welded it to the bumper
My old altenator died because it was packed with undercoating and the housing was cracked. So I replaced it with a nice new one.
And then I also fixed my heater, turns out the P/O took off the main power wire? so we replaced it and it works fine now,
I also put on a AP-racing glasspack, sounds like a mini-cummins now :3
I'm also getting some MTX racing buckets tomorrow, since my current seats are shot.

Well didnt do much today, I changed the oil, cleaned out all the garbage, and painted my fender flares gloss black.
But heres whats puzzling me now... before i changed the oil it was about a quart low. but the oil psi gauge was on the 3. Now i changed the oil to quaker state defy 10w30 not only did the tick get worse, but the oil psi is under the 3 a little bit now. :/ worrys me now because my old white cherokee started doing this just before it developed a horrible knock and was later found out the pistons were destroyed. A few of my friends told me to adjust the valves.. how would i do that to a 4.0L?
