Default Project "Deagle" 95 XJ

Ok here it is. My 1995 Jeep Cherokee XJ. I picked this up off a Craigslist AD. AD said he wanted 2000 or possible trade for guns. Also said it could use some transmission work.

Well of course this flagged me as something I might not wanna mess with. But I thought what the heck I'll go check it out. Well in my younger days I had owned a 1990 XJ so I knew a little about them. So after a test drive I realized what the guy meant when he said the transmission needed work. The motor mounts were bad. So I traded him a gun I owned. Guess what gun it was?It was a Desert Eagle hence the name Project "Deagle"!

Here is a Picture upclose sitting in my driveway.

after checking it out a little more there had been a little work done to it. It has a 3" Inch lift if you wanna call it that. A 3 inch block in the rear and a 3 inch coil spacer in the front. Front and rear sway bars were removed. Look like some headers were installed along with and a Cherry bomb muffler. A decent pioneer stereo, and a home made monster roof rack!!
But there are some new 31 10.50 Tires with new black wheels which will be for sale soon!

Well first thing I did was order some Motor mounts. After some research I went with www.ironman4x4fab.com motor mounts. These are heavy duty and give you a little lift on your motor to hopefully cure some drive line vibration when I install the new lift.

Old Mounts

The old mounts were even worse then i thought. I'm lucky there wasn't a broken exhaust manifold or worse!

New Mount installed

I really like the new Motor mounts. Very heavy duty. Sorry for the lack of pictures. I already have gotten into this build a little before I realized i was gonna attempt a build thread. i will get more pictures here out.

Since I had to remove the Airbox to install the new Motor mounts I went ahead and installed a new intake. I went with the Rusty Offroad intake with a K&N Filter.

I went ahead and changed all the fluids in the Jeep. Since I had to remove the diff cover on the Chrysler 8.25 I went ahead and bought a Diff Guard to install. I went with Rustys Offroad Diff Guard.

Thanks...they really stick out..they don't look right with 10.50 wide tires..you got to have at least 12.50 inch wide to even out..

Ok sold the 33 Wranglers and went and purchased 35 12.50 BFG KM2's and mounted them on Pro Comp flat black Rockcrawlers...I really like the way they came out but I'm scared they may rub at full flex..gonna have to try them out..
