Went out and did some exploring today, was definitely out in the rhubarb. I've explored the area a lot and never been to these places before. Was pretty sweet. Lots more to go through too. Also went through a little trail that may have been a quad trail haha, dragged my hitch a few times, surprised I didn't drag my undercarriage anywhere.
Ripped my shovel off the roof basket, somehow broke the Quick Fist rubber clamps Fell down and scratched the **** out of the side of the Jeep, as it's basically the same as the Krazy Beaver shovel, murder spork haha. But yeah, this will not buff out lol.
Anyone know of any other good mounting systems for tools like shovels, axe, etc? Metal may be a good choice...or use the same mounts but mount inside the roof basket.
Shackles/leafs are making a ruckus. Nothing new. Shackles with better bushings going in when I swap the axles, and possibly leaf bushings.
Also got to try out my air down gauge today. Viair 00033. Worked nicely! Love the aired down ride haha
Here's a picture for your viewing pleasure

Exploring out in the rhubarb, bit of a flex here in some washed away ruts

Oh funny haha, I'm up in Comox! I got the axles from down in Nanaimo. Down there every once in a while, plan to come wheeling down there once I've got the axles under it and done a few other things.
I have a stock 93 cherokee that was badly abused before i got it. After loads of work it is finally running and shifting properly. Took it out for the first run though, and the passenger leaf snapped where the PO welded and haywired it.

So now i have a set of rear leaves to do. Apparently it's one of the crap jobs on an XJ. Really not looking forward to it lol. Only plus side is i'm real close to the junkyards.

Nice pic btw, looks like fun!

Well that sucks! Unfortunate that happened. But yes that is one of the dreaded replacements lol. Soak everything in PB blaster or a similar penetrant sort of thing. Use heat if somethings stuck instead of just reefing on it and potentially breaking the nut/bolt.

Heat for sure, plus i have the ultra top secret method of tightening the bolt first to crack it loose.

So little update here. Just pulled the cover on the C8.25, turns out it isn't actually LSD So looks like those aren't getting put in as soon as I planned! Going to very slowly buy parts, and save for auto lockers. Lokka has a deal for front+rear for $550 CDN shipped to my door. So may do that option!

But until then, going to install the rear E-brake cables since mine are tight, and the rear brake softline that's 6"ish longer, then probably get some Bilstein 5100s, 25" extended I think they are. Along with a portable compressor.

Where do you keep finding these crazy deals? 53 dollar wheels, 550 for TWO lockers. The prices im seeing are like 80 buck wheels (at least) and bare minimum 500 bucks per locker.

I would rather spend the extra and get Aussie. Love mine and even with simple sticker emails they always got back to me fast. I've heard Lokka isn't the easiest to contact for warrenty issues. Plus, made in the USA always will get my vote. I've seen new ones break first run.

4wheelparts for the wheels! Trailmaster TM5 is what I have, then they have the TM9 which is just a different style. As for lockers, check out Lokkas website, put in your Jeep model and such, and there you go.

Funny I was actually thinking that since I'm only doing the front instead I've decided. I know someone who is a dealer for Aussie lockers so I'm thinking of seeing what kind of price I can get through him. Support a local business.
As for Lokka, there's a guy in all the local wheeling groups and such, he absolutely beats the **** out of his XJ, and he has Lokka lockers front and rear. He did break his front I believe, broke a pin or something. Contacted Lokka and they had his parts out to him immediately. But I guess I'd rather not break it in the first place haha. Maybe the Canadian dollar will get a bit better and parts won't cost so much, wishful thinking

Cool thanks man!

As far as aussie vs lokka, i'd go for the cheap one. It's a jeep not a maserati. IF you break something, the junkyards are full of em!

No worries! But I decided on going Aussie over Lokka actually. Talked to a guy down island that sells them, and he almost signed with Lokka, but there was some crazy things that made it so he didn't. Bunk warranty that really doesn't cover any Jeep driven on the road, made from non heat treated Chinese metals, and made in the factory Aussie used to make theirs before they moved due to quality issues. A guy was saying he's seen multiple break as well. I'm going to spend the extra for Aussie personally.

I had no idea they were such crap. Definately sounds like you'd be saving money, time and effort in the long run by just going for quality from the get go.

Yeah I had no idea either. I've seen and heard people running them hard without issues. But I'd rather just spend a bit more and get better quality instead! Better in the long run like you said.

Sorry for a lack of any sort of update haha. Just started a new job, welding and learning fabrication and what not at a local shop! So just getting that going! Hopefully will have some new stuff to update about fairly soon.

Well yesterday my front left caliper decided to lock up, so that was fun. It's always given me some issues, but it finally gave up haha. Went and got 2 new calipers, installed them, went to bleed them...couldn't get it. Solid fluid coming out and still just no pedal. Tried bleeding front/rear over and over, and master cylinder. Noticed a leak below the master cylinder and basically came to the conclusion the master cylinder is toast...again. Was replaced 11 months ago, that shouldn't happen. Luckily it's under warranty still, but Jeep is out of commission for a few days.

I'm starting to get back on track with buying parts to get the axle swap done! Have all the rear parts except the Aussie locker, so now moving onto the front to buy parts.

How she sits until the master cylinder is in...again

Got it all done except one ebrake cable. Wrong one was packaged and was threaded on one end end...weird. Replacement will be here in a few days. Those are much much longer, will allow for plenty of flex.
Here's a picture of the Dodge Dakota rear soft line compared to the factory one I'm holding up beside it. Had to use a drill with a dremel bit to enlarge the hole on the mount on the body, but other than that it's easy. The block on the axle side is shaped differently as well but doesn't really cause issues.

Factory XJ rear brake soft line (in my hand) compared to Dodge Dakota soft line (mounted). As you can see, the Dakota one is much longer.
