2000 Classic Budget Build
Picked up my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Classic about a week ago for 5k, 196k miles with a 2k miles new motor.
My buddy also has a stock 1999 Jeep Cherokee and we noticed that mine was a little higher, so we decided to take a look under it...
Not sure if these are after market, if anyone knows that would be awesome.
We found this problem too, not sure what happened here, I'm also not sure how to fix this problem either, or if it even is a problem.
Looking to put in the new exhaust in the next week or so, and still browsing for lifts and tires. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Those shocks definitely look aftermarket. Nice jeep, and as far as exhaust and lift go, I have a flowmaster super 44 with a turndown out the back of the muffler and love the sound. Also, I have a 3 inch rough country lift and it hasn't given me any problems yet although I would at least get the upgraded shocks for a better ride and I run 31x10.5x15 bfg all terrains and love them and I have black rock 909 rims with 4 inch back spacing.... Just my thoughts, thought they might help

Put in the new muffler yesterday (Thrush Glasspack 2.25), along with the CB, PA and antenna.
had to use a 2.5" connector, will replace soon hopefully
Gotta love free stickers!
yeah those are mounting pieces
saved me a lot of time
and money!

I love it, it has a good sound to it, but it's pretty darn loud, so if you don't want something rally loud i wouldn't go with it haha

So here's the to do list:
Dana 44 rear
ARB Lockers
RC 6.5" lift or RC 4.5" long arm lift
General Grabber LT285/75R16
Dirt Bound Stubby Recovery Bumper
Custom roof rack
Light Bar for the hood
Door Removal Mod
Anything else I should add/change?

Why are you wanting to put a 44 in already? You have a 8.25 which is similar strength? Unless you already have on, i'd be way more worried about getting a HP 30 in the front first. I mean I'm wanting to put in a 44 rear but I have a 35.

What is the advantage of the long arm kit? And how much of a difference would the HP 30 make in the front? (Sorry for the probably dumb questions this is my first jeep and I have a ton to learn) Also I want to keep the lift under 1000

It allows for greater articulation and flex, also gives you new, stronger mounting points for the control arms. If you're set on using 33 inch tires with no fender trimming, and you want to stay under 1k, I'd go with this kit. http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-sus...kit-696n2.html

Upon examining my budget I've decided to go with a 4.5" budget lift, with fender trimming to run 33's.
My lift idea: Rear- S10 or Durango Bastard pack
Longer shackles if needed
YJ brake lines
Front- 70's f150 coil springs (or ford t-bird springs)
YJ front brake lines
Drop pitman Arm
Lower control arms (adjustable?)
Sway bar disco
Adjustable trac bar
Is there anything I'm missing/ should change? Help is greatly appreciated!
