1998XJSPT build thread!!
So the time has finally come! After having my xj for about 5 months and gathering all the parts I need, iv finally decided to start a build thread!
I'm a 19 year old father, still in highschool and on the budget of a restaurant worker., I bought my 1998 Cherokee Sport 4x4 with only 120xxx miles on it. Before I got him I knew I would be lifting my xj
Current plans as of now are
-RE3.5 super-ride w/ full leafs
-Bilstein 5100's
-SYE
-31x10.5r15 BFG KM2
-Cragar v-5 (black)
-cowl snorkel
Future plans will be..
-5.5 coil springs
-2in shackles
-bedlined floors
-nates4x4 nonwinch bumpers
-33" KM2
-lunched & built d30
-8.8 swap or built 8.25

Here is how he sat when I brought him home
i trimmed bumpers
& then took it out to play
Ended up wetting my carpet so I cut a section out, let it airdry, then reinstalled it. It sucked because I let it airdry all day, then the next mornin I woke up to the sound of rain ,took another 3 days to dry after that lol
Came out pretty good I must say
as time went on I slowly started gathering parts to lift my rig, got my km2s, cragar v-5 (3.75bs) and my RE lift
At one point I needed a serious brake job, the pad ended up wearing down to bare metal and scratching the rotor up pretty bad
Mmmm! Fresh brakes!!
I got my towhooks installed and this is how he sits as of right now, been BPblasting hardware, getting ready to get lifted tomarro!!

thanks! i ran into a delema today while trying to finish the rear. turns out that Morris4x4center sent me the wrong u-bolts when i clearly stated to them that i had the c8.25 axle. and on the box and shipping statement it says RE3.5 for c.8.25..this just ruined the entire build process. now i have to wait until monday or tuesday to recieve the correct u-bolts in order to finish up the build.

Subbed. It's been a few months, any updates? I'm sure it's tough having a kid to care for! I couldn't imagine having a jeep and a kid at the same time. What bumper did you decide on? (based on your other thread)

havent updated this thing in a while. iv got some different plans and ideas to do to the xj than what i had in the beginning, heres the list of what im thinking about:
-cut&fold lower rear quarter
-tub out rear fender
-comp cut front fender
-shims
http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...22d57b1ce2b153
-sleeve& gusset d30
http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=XDT
-regear
http://www.rwkhaussupply.com/magento...-and-rear.html
-35 km2
http://www.4wheelparts.com/Tires/35x...&t_pn=BFG07737
-wheel spacers
-bumpstops
-exo
-oil pan skid
http://www.quadratec.com/products/12022_904_07.htm
-seats/harness
http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...RIDGE-XJ-84-01
-diff covers
http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/825COV.html
http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/D30COV.html
-LCA&UCA
http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...tegory_Code=UP
-rear shock mounts
http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...le-Shock-Mount
-doubler
basically im setting my jeep up to be a lcog built xj. i have a RE3.5 lift but with the exo weight it will probabally go down to 3in. and ill have 35 km2 and wheel spacers to finish the stance off.
as of right now gears/shafts and tires are first up on the list, everything else is kind of floating around so if anyone want s to make any suggestions as of what i should do before what, feel free.
would love to scout out a pair of axles for 37s but ill get this phase of the build done before that. prob hp44/9in
