Even if they are not much in the way of wheeling, they look pretty fun and nice place to do a shake down run.

You can post pictures with cherokee forum. Click the little paper clip, select the pictures you want to post, click "upload", then go back to the main window, click the paper clip again, and select the pictures you uploaded.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try.

I'll have to check on the pics. Photobucket has been acting strange lately. Thanks for the heads up.
I may need a need hosting site.
The front bumper is a Smittybilt
the rear bumper is a Detours "Slimline"
with D-Ring shackles, and hidden receiver hitch.
Right on. They look good on there. Definitely use the site's upload feature. It's quite a bit easier and the pics will be stored to your albums in your account. Only inconvenience is if you're using a work computer (like me). Then you have to remember to delete the pics from your computer after you upload them to the forum. Not really a big deal though.

Nice jeep! I have a white XJ w/ roof rack and bushwacker flares. Looks very similar to yours. I'll be following your build closely.

I checked out your build. Nice jeep you're building. The 33's look great!

Default 33x12.50x15

I found a good deal on five 33x12.50x15 Duratracs, mounted on 15x8 Level 8 Trackers. The only downside is the wheels are 5x5 bolt pattern (for the 2007 and newer Wranglers). It's a shame, because I really like these rims.

I'm going to have the tires mounted on my wheels, and then sell the Tracker rims, and my 31's unmounted. Four of the "new" 33's have considerable wear but after selling the rims, the tires will basically be free. I figure this will let me test the 33x12's and see if I want to keep this size or try something else without investing a lot of money.

Side by side comparison

I hope to get these mounted this week, but with my schedule it maybe the Saturday before I get a chance to drop it off at the tire shop.

If you're careful and use enough lube (I used generous amounts of dawn dish soap with a slight bit of water to keep it from getting gummy) you can do it yourself with pry bars or big screwdrivers... if you're not comfortable with the pry bars, tire tools are cheap at harbor freight and work just fine.

Here's a how-to video:

Little redneck-ish but the method works well. You can use another car to pop the bead like they did, or your hi-lift jack.

Thanks for the tip. Could have saved myself some money.

Default Tires mounted

I was able to take off a little early today and get the tires mounted.
After I took the old wheels, and tires home, I drove it to a dirt road to snap a few pictures.

They rub at full lock, but I think I can massage the inner fender with a hammer to solve that. I think my lift may have settled a bit, plus the weight of the tire carrier, and front bumper have probably brought the height down a little. I was hoping not to add anymore lift, but it looks like I may have to do something. I may just bump stop it, and take it wheeling to get a feel for what I need to do.

I really like the stance with the flares and the 33's.
