1991 Jeep Cherokee Build to 2001
Never added my build on here so I guess I can start it. I bought my 91 Jeep Cherokee Laredo back in 08. Had a oil leak on the timing chain cover. And got it for $400
Picture of when I first bought my Jeep.
I had it for a year and was wanting to get a 2001 last make of the XJs but were hard to find due to the clunkers program or dealers wanted too much for them.
So I was going to fix my 91 to look just like a 01.
I got the header panel for it and painted & installed it.
Didn't replace the fender but still looks okay.
Later bought the side trim and the corner bumbers and installed the back ones so far.
Later plan to get these style rims for my Cherokee.
List:
1. 4 01 style rims 15"
2. 01 Black mirrors
3. finding a way to add the back liftgate
4. 01 taillights
5. Windows tinted.
6. Door Handles. Maybe adding black door handles. debating over keeping the crome ones or add the black one.
7. Power Windows
8. Power Locking
Will the bigger mirrors fit on the 91 Cherkoees? I hate how small my mirrors are on mine, makes it hard to see anything
What it will look like when finished.

Probably gona have to mod it to work as the hinges are on the top outside on mine and the newer ones are on the inside. I have a door laying around. Came off a silver 2000 Cherokee SPORT.

I like the red trim.
The doors won't work unless you mod the hinges, they are completely different.
Good luck.

Is that it? I was going to keep my top hinges on mine and just add them to the top of the new door I got. Has anyone else add the door on theres? I'd like to see images on how they did theres.

I guess it will work, I found this image of an added 98 liftgate on a 96.
So I may see about adding the hinges on this weekend.
Are the taillights from looking from back shorter from side to side? I know there taller by a 1-1/2

Sorry about my earlier post, I thought you were talking about doors instead of the hatch lol
Dude, Where in PA do you live? I'm in the central region.

Im also from PA, but why do you want it to look like a 2001? That would mean u want to change the whole interior, which would be dash, seats, center consul, everything. Why? Don't you like the looks of the 91? I personally think the 01's dont look good. But thats just my thought, to each is his own. Lol

no im keeping my interor the way it is. may get the wood grain dash that fits around the stering wheele and radio tho, but thats the only change in the interor. Heres a link of what it will look like. http://www.carid.com/images/Jeep/jee...-dash-kits.jpg
Not going under the glovebox tho, just the driver side.
As for the rims there called 9018
I'm almost finished putting the black strip that runs along the doors on the passager side. taking long because of the old 3M tape isn't coming off easy to add the new tape on, have to have it completely clean.
So far there sticking on very tight.
I'd like it if that image had info on how to install that back door.

The Jeep Cherokees are still being made but only in China now.

They also went back to using the 84-96 LiftGate door aswell with slightly diffrent taillights.

forgot to add, I don't know if there called Cherokee but say Jeep 2500 on the side of the door like it say Cherokee on ours.
