Default Please do not support Jeepskool in Ohio

His pricing and attitude has became ridiculous, I will not support him or his locations and People that do not know of him need to know what is going on.Not everyone is familiar with the censorship and the for lack of a better word the dictatorship that is happening there. He is Robocon, read his last post JeepSkool.com • View topic - Help save Moab

He is ruining wheeling in Ohio and taking advantage of what is going on with free land closings.I do not want to have a flame war, I just want to let people know how some people are taking advantage of other lose in the off roading community.

So he shouldn't be able to do with his private property as he pleases???

If he chooses to not allow that type of discussion on his site, its not censorship or dictatorship, its a private owner deciding what to do with his private property. Just because you or I or anyone else doesn't like it, doesn't matter. Its not our place to decide. You don't like it... don't do business with him.

It certainly doesn't show how he is "ruining" wheeling in Ohio. How many acres of LEGAL public land existed there before he opened his business? How many exist now??

There are many business factors that go into properly pricing a park. The insurance policies needed alone are extremely expensive before you even begin to factor in things like capital costs, property costs or operational needs.

This is not the only post or reason why I think this guy is a dirt bag, I can post 20 or 30 other posts were he has disrespected guys who have kept off roading in Ohio going way before he came along. HE is ruining wheeling in Ohio for everyone, by running out people who can't afford the costs and guys that have been supporting wheeling in OHIO for a long time. It may be his site and he can do what he wants blah blah but when guys start posting" SIGN THE PETITION TO SAVE JEEP SKOOL". I want people to remember how he treated others. He is a Nazi and unless you are obligated by blood I would not defend him, hell I would not **** on him to stop him from burning!

Personally this statement right here:

Quote:
".......We will work with other Bulletin Boards to network those activities which satisfy the above conditions. We will not become a political voice for anyone. We will LEAD by example."
IS why we'll continue to loose the battle to keep lands open. The Internet and web forums are a great tool when used to there fullest. But when you slap the hands of those just trying to do the most and best they can. Your closing doors and lands for us all. Working with other boards and being a political voice go hand in hand on these issues.

Robocon I do not know who you are. But I ask you 1 web site owner to another to PLEASE rethink your stand point on that topic. Your taking away a tool that we all need to use to it's fullest to keep land open.

Remember once all the public lands are closed they'll come after the private sector next.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

This is the point I am trying to get across to him and every one wlse who reads this. You are not untouchable and this stuff effects all of us(people that go off roading). The needless commits he has made toward me and others in private and on other forums or the reason why I think he is a jerk.

Thank you for your reply.

I have indeed spent my time(20yrs) fighting the fight. I have since retired from the political scene(AMA/ATVA) and so have my websites. Nothing more, nothing less then the desire to keep it light and airy these days. I still help folks privately and keep up with things. But JeepSkool is just a place to have fun and share good times. We have plenty of sites left to fight for rights of all offroad enthusiast.

I hope you too will understand. Let's wheel!

Check out all we have to offer in the last two Petersen's mags featuring the Ultimate Adventure!

Lets start with the simplest of your complaints... Pricing... let's compare to other privately run parks in the midwest... Now from JS own website It would cost you $35 to go there and run your Jeep with one passenger.

Badlands in Attica, IN.....$25 per day
Cliff's in Marseilles, IL.....$30 per day
Haspin Acres in Laurel, IN...$30 per day
Raush Creek in PA......$40 per day Plus the $10 per person per year membership

Rocks and Valleys in Harrison,MI....$20..

So not being right in the middle of the pack makes him outrageously priced?? have you posted the same rant regarding Rausch Creek???

I once again ask... how many acres of free LEGAL wheeling land existed before his park opened?? How many exist now???

While I don't agree with his stance on this particular subject, its a far cry from him "ruining" wheeling in any market. Not wanting the normal political discussions on his board is his choice.

Robocon.... Welcome to the board. As one business man to another I would encourage you to rethink your position on the discussion of land use issues in particular. We need every hand on deck for this fight. Our opponents are better funded, better organized, and have shown in the past that not even the truth is an obstacle to their agenda.

Please remember that the 30 dollar entrance fee covers two days(Sat/Sun). Three days(Fri-Sun) for 5 months out of the year. So the price is crazy low. We feel this is a great price for everyone.

We are a growing place and have added something for everyone and a new trail is being cut this week. It could be the most difficult one yet!

Here is a peak of some of the play areas the big boys like.

I'm a Jeepskooler and PROUD OF IT! If you haven't been there then I'm sorry to hear that! Jeepskool is a SAFE, LEGAL, FAMILY ORIENTED place to go wheeling. I have been going to JS since the beginning of the this past summer. I have taken my kids there... I have taken my friends there. I have met some AMAZING people!

At JS we have a bath house with showers, HOT water, indoor plumbing!! That means NO MORE PORT O POTTIES!!! Yay!!! (and NO... I do not have an issue with jumping out of the jeep in the middle of the woods, leaning against a tree!)

We have a beautiful pavilion that hosts many functions during JS weekends!

We have beautiful property to hike, fish, rock crawl, get stuck in the mud, or just cruise around on, oh and let's not forget the class 3 gun range for the gun enthusiast.

We have trail leaders that are there to help you get "un-stuck".

We have a HUGE garage to work on our broken vehicles!! Not to mention all the greatly talented mechanics to help us!!

Now let me talk a lil about Robocon and his amazing wife RoboJr. They are the two sweetest, most generous people I know!! Their passion for Jeepskool will NEVER run out!! They stand up for the families that enjoy off roading too!! There's no way on this lovely earth that I would EVER take my 3 children to Yankee Lake or Wellsville!! NO WAY AT ALL!! Is there anything wrong with those places... NO! They just aren't family friendly. So it you don't have kids then fine... but if you do, and you want a safe place to go... then JEEPSKOOL is for you!!

As far as **** Robocon... whatever, guys, you have your opinions and that's fine... but don't bad mouth someone just because they don't want drunken, crazy people driving around on their trails or because he doesn't want people using bad language around kids or because he chooses to run his business the way he sees fit!!!

Get your facts straight before you talk crap!

And hey... Look what we have coming up in NOVEMBER!!! Does Wellsville do this? Nope.... Does Yankee Lake do this?? NOPE! Where else can you wheel and have fun like JEEPSKOOL?!?!?!?!

That is cute!Click the image to open in full size. Hold on let me go get my wife and all my friends to join just for one post in my defense.Click the image to open in full size.. I think you have me all wrong, see I do not think that your park sucks. Just you and the way you have handled things. I would never support a place that is owned or ran by a narcissistic douche that goes around talking crap to people like he is untouchable. I do not care if you had that greatest offroad park ever I nor any of the people that goes riding with me will be coming to your park even if it was free. And that is were I will leave it I hope that is some more "good advertisement" for you. Either way I am tired of this BS and this guy is either to stupid or doesn't care if people come to his park. Either way I have grown weary with dumb people.

Whowey, Dude I do not have to explain anything to anyone if you do not agree with me than cool. I gave info I thought people should see, but if you are looking for a free pass from robojerk than good luck But if I was you I would not waste the drive. I have never paid those prices that you posted at the places I have been here is what I paid.
Badlands in Attica, IN.....$15 per day
Haspin Acres in Laurel, IN...$15 per day
Painted Rock, Ohio (closed now)...$10 per day
Black Mountain, Harlen KY.....$45 a YEAR
I do not know what the prices are but every time I have went with a group(which is the only way to go) We have gotten some kind of deal.

Ok so you basically have paid what we pay at JS. It's $35 for driver to come to JS for the weekend to camp and off road. It's $5 for additional passengers. As far as your opinion on Robocon so be it. You'll have your opinions. I personally can't see where it's coming from but like I said...to each his own.

As far as your issue with "dumb" people... whatever dude.... I was merely posting facts. Facts = information that is TRUE! I am in no way affiliated with the running of Jeepskool... I do love the place and I am involved with the Kids portion of it but I am not a staff member. It was a neighbor of mine that told me about this site and what was being said about Jeepskool. I would have no issues with someone not liking JS for legit reasons, however, when I read some of the misinformation being spewed I chose to speak up about it.

Have you ever actually sat down and talked to Robocon? Have you ever had a conversation with him about Jeepskool or off roading in general? Just curious as to why you think he's such a bad guy. You've apparently seen something that I have never seen and I've talked to him on numerous occasions about JS and non-Jeep related things.
