open 8am -5pm. open every day except Christmas regardless of weather conditions. if you need a bunch of small, light parts, there is another yard close to pick a part called monster joes. they charge $1 a pound with a $10 minimum. BUT. its run by some shady characters, and I cant promise you will find any Cherokees.

My last wheeling trip was to Big dogs back in June! Been wanting to hit flag pole etc. but, haven't made it yet!!

I think I am going to step away from the XJ this year and focus on our house and my Dodge 3500!!

Your driveway. If your control arm length is set right then castor is taken care of. Only other thing is toe - you want about 1/8" toe in, which you can use a tape measure to set

Alignment printouts are free. I do the DIY alignment (also 'stringing' if it is a new lift on front and rear). Then take it for a printout, and bring it home to make any adjustments. The nice thing is, you get real data to compare to your own.
The stringing method can be used to measure wheelbase, thrust angle, and trackbar centering.
Did you guys know that the wheelbase from factory is different from left to right side by 10mm? And there is 'cross caster' (small amount) preset in the front axle to combat the crown in road.

thanks dukie. I asked about shops because ive spent the last month freezing my nuts off outside, and we still have about 4-5" of snow here. honestly, I was fed up enough to pay someone else to do it, but not $80 lol.

sorry for the newb question, ive never done an alignment before, but should I be taking my measurements from the wheel lip?

This damn snow. I'd be happy if the Jeep was fixed and there was no concern of getting around. Im limited to the Malibu, which is looking less and less capable. Gotta get wife from work, but her office wont close shop just a bit early.

Some Warrenton ranting. Just by some worst case scenario (because our private road is looking really bad), anyone know of a local all weather 'taxi' service? I'll probably just end up leaving now and waiting in her parking lot until 3. She works close to RadioShack.

wheel lip would work, but center of the tread would be easier and more consistent to hold a tape against

1/8" - 1/16" for the 231 transfer case.
0" for the 242 (if you use 4-FullTime).
