Anyone know the legality of camping on broad run?A friend asked the other day,and i wasn't sure if it'd be legal or not.I'm pretty sure the last time i was back there i saw a few fire sites, but that doesn't mean they were there legally.

All of the land along Broad Run is private. You may have seen campsites from land owners or of people with permission(or not) to be there.

I would just go up to The Pines campground in Craig County if you want a primitive site away from everyone. Its near the lower entrance of Potts Mountain Jeep Trail.

Hey y'all! just another jeeper here, 90 xj laredo, if you live in/around roanoke youve probably seen/heard me somewhere (this pic is from monday's "hey lets make them lift off doors!")

Still got a few parts to throw on prior to some serious trailing, but might as well shout out now

I have not seen your XJ yet, maybe you've seen me. I'm either in my 90 XJ with 2.5" lift or my trail rig on 35's(I also drive a Hemi Commander) here are pics of all three. Stop me and say "hey" if you see me around.

I believe i've seen this xj at a dealer on melrose? If not you've got a twin, that one may have been 4 door though.

I keep spotting a huge (8 inch+ at least) black/dark color xj running around salem, looks to be on 33's or 35's.He keeps doing high speed pulls/rubbernecking by my house.

Anyone know him?

I work in Salem and Ive not seen that XJ. I rarely drive mine on the road and I've evolved from doing stupid stuff like that so its not me LOL!

There is so many lifted XJ's around here that I don't even look them over anymore. So many of them never hit a trail. If I see one dented up, I know the owner wheels it and I'll look it over. Other than that, they are a dime a dozen.

Also, while typing this that same huge xj just went by.
I'm mainly concerned because we have alot of children in my neighborhood.

I went a few weeks ago and was really dissapointed. The water (the only good thing about that trail) was way down, and someone knocked down 3 trees on the trail and there was alot of trash. We took the time to move them off and pick the trash up, but it was just not as fun as it used to be.

We need to putt together another Potts Mountain trip soon, or if you want to go easier we could do Shoe Creek. Maybe tag along with the NOVA guys.

I haven't wheeled since the last Potts Mountain trip back in April, that was the day the mountain caught fire. I haven't wheeled since. I need to crawl some rock!

George Washington National Forest
Click on link and look up Shoe Creek bottom/top. Remember to stay on the trail no matter where you wheel. Even if it looks like other people are going off-trail, don't do it!

You need recovery points front and rear for Potts Mountain. There are spots at the bypass that you may get hung up and need something substantial to pull on without concern that that the strap/cable will become a projectile. A 2" receiver hitch works well in the rear but you need a front bumper with D hooks and frame tie-ins to pull on.
