Need help with floor pan replacement Statesville, NC.
Hey there, I have ordered a new full length passenger floor pan to repair the rusted out p.o.s. I have now. I was wondering if someone how has done this before can come over and give me a hand as I've need done anything like this before (body work wise). I plan on starting on i,t the week between Xmas & the 4th of Jan. as i have those 12 days off of work. My shop is heated and could be fully stocked with your favorite cold refreshments. I have a Miller 211welder also a Tig (just need to get another bottle) if that may be more useful and all the basic hand tools (but no body type tools) and a air compressor . Anyways anything any help would be appreciated. I'm located just off I40 between exit 141 & 144.

Ok update on my plans, tweaking the shop out.
Plasma tv, check. Surround sound, check. The Mint 400 playing on dvd, check.
Also the mailman dropped off some supplies today.
Topping of the fridge.
I'm thinking on changing my plan around a little bit as i might as well fix some of the other short comings on the underside of the XJ's. So I ordered the 2x6 steel for my rockers Friday & will pick it up on Monday, also ordered RuffStuff frame stiffener last night so hopefully get them shortly. Just wish I could do a long arm upgrade at the same time but that'll have to wait for later.

Thanks, should even look better after tomorrow as it's clean up day. Not G2's but USA Gear stuff. I installed it before thanksgiving, not to bad quality for the price, had everything needed in the master install kits. Only thing I should have done was replaced the front axle seals during the gear change (wanted to wait for new chromo shafts so I didn't screw one up) since the kit came with new ones. So have a slight leak on pass side, must have happened when I welded the truss on, just gotta keep an eye on the level every so often.

Yea, I have had a leaky seal before also.
Just be sure and keep tabs on the puddle that accumulates in the lower 'C' on axle. Clean it up before it has a chance to get flung on brakes.
The rig I have now I put outer axle tube seals on, will not know if the inner seal leaks or not.lol

Hey forgot about that G2 set in the pic, I had up loaded from my phone so I didn't see it before. That was left over from an install I did on my JK that I had before.

Looks like a good shop. I've got all the tools but no shop haha. As for the axle seal, just baby it. It's normal to see a slight leak just after removing and reinstalling the axles because the seal will need to "seat" itself on the axle. Give it another week or so. Make sure to keep cleaning out the inner C like Steve said and if it keeps filling after a week of driving, then I'd say one needs to be replaced.

Bring out the dvd collection to get in the right frame of mind just couldn't find any KOH. Thought I had 1 with something on it from a couple of years ago but not sure what i did with it, guess I'll have to make something up.

Picked up my steel tonight, that's Derek at RaceCity Steel.
Cut the 2"x6"x0.188" & 3/16" flat stock to 65". The 3" x 3/16"angle I had them cut to 66".
Now if i can find someone with a punch press so I don't have to hand drill all those rosette welds. Thinking about using the leftover 2x6 for a HD trans mount, we'll see. Now come on Dan @ RuffStuff ship my stiffeners.

Update
So the shop is closed till the 5th and I have some time on my hands. I started last night with installing the IronRock HnT SYE kit (bought a used XJ frt shaft from the JY the other week), no real problems as I took it slow.
Man is that output shaft hard.
Today I started to cut the old rockers off and recut the frt fenders for clearance.
Tomorrow I'll start cutting out the passenger floor & getting it ready for the new panel. I'll have to wait till Tuesday to start the final welding as I have the flat & angle stock for the 2x6 rockers over at a metal shop getting punch pressed for the rosette weld holes and won't be ready till Monday. Also have a meeting on Monday for some side work to help pay for phases 2 & 3 of this build project so not much will get done.

That's my test pipe, thought I might have a bad cat. My power just seams low, checked the compression and it's good (150-155), did a tune up when I first got it and changed the fuel filter and put new 4-hole injectors. Even after I did the gear change (3.55 to 4.56) it didn't have the giddy up I'd thought it should have had. I'm going to go thru the vac hoses this week. If that isn't it I guess it's rebuild time or maybe time for a V8.
