Hello everybody I'm Bill and I'm from Rockingham, NC. I recently bought an 88 XJ and have been making repairs, added 5" lift and 31" tires recently. It's headed to the paint shop tomorrow and I should be able to post a pic in about a week of before and after. Have owned a couple of Grand Cherokees but this is the first XJ for me. Look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hey, I'm Dalton from Raleigh, NC, and I just bought my first Jeep ('01 XJ Sport 2wd). I got it for a steal because the seller didn't know how much it was worth, and it had a few minor issues (CEL- just a hole in a hose, needed new rubber all the way around, couple blemishes on the outside, interior is kinda gross). Other than that, I am in love with it.

Hello, Stephen from the Harrisonburg area. Currently in Afghanistan right now, but I've been a Cherokee owner for less than 24 hours and I'm pretty excited. Hit me up this fall for a little bit of trail fun when I return!

Hello! Jerry from Richmond, VA. Acquired a 94 Cherokee Sport, 4.0, 5 spd. in a trade. It is in pretty rough shape but I have already started taking care of the issues. No crazy plans, small lift with some bigger tires (already have both), clean it up, take care of a few small issues, then have some fun!

Dave from DE. '98 XJ 4.0. Started the build a few months ago. I've been replacing/upgrading parts getting it ready for a 3.5-4.5" lift with 33's. Did the ZJ tie rod upgrade, replaced ball joints, unit bearings, track bar, sway bar bushings, front axle u joints and removed the a/c entirely.

Most recently patched some small holes in the floor board, installed new thermal padding and cleaned reinstalled the carpet and seats.

Next up is headliner replacement, modifying the new bumper and welding on some frame stiffeners/bumper reinforcements then skid plates which I believe I am going to fab myself.

I hope there is some good wheeling in the near future after all of this work.

Default Just Moved to Northern VA in the Stafford Area

well, I started off with a stock 99 xj about a year ago now. I had already accrued all of the parts for the build by the time i finally found the perfect jeep to start with. It was a one owner really clean low mileage xj. took me a while to find what i was looking for.

After a a couple months of slowly getting everything together when i had the time.. i was done! couldn't be happier!

Had a few good wheelin trips with it back home in East TN. but then tragedy happened and i totaled it. flipped it coming down from one of the local offroading spots.

Luckily by some miricale no one was hurt at all! there were 4 of us in the jeep. we got her flipped back over and i claimed it on insurance.. long story short i got the insurance money and got to keep my jeep for the parts.. i bought another jeep and swapped everything over to it. and this is what i am rolling with now.

I just moved up to the Stafford area a few weeks ago.. I don't really know anything about the area. is there anywhere to really go wheelin around here? and jeep clubs/meets or anything? the Jeep community was pretty strong back home. I'd like to get involved in it here.

Jerry from Charlottesville, VA. Been out of the jeep world for awhile but I picked up this 1996 automatic for $500. Hope to do quite a bit to this rig and use it as a trail rig/occasional driver. Pretty much got all of the maintenance done moving on to lift stage. Will make a build thread when it starts rolling.

PS. Desperately looking for a decent set of 33s and/or 15x8 wheels.

Been on here for a while and just started looking through the regional stuff so I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Herb and I'm in Glen Allen, VA. I've been running a TJ since '06 and just picked up a 99 XJ in late September last year.

Here's where it is so far.

Working my way from the front to the back. I just finished building the bumper and gas tank skid. The t-case and engine skids are going to be painted this weekend and then it's on to sliders and the front bumper. Have to get it all ready before Wheeling For Hope in April so I only have about a month to go.

Thank you.

We're actually not too crazy about the color but it was in the best shape of any we looked at so we went with it. Seems people either love it or hate it. It's getting more and more black parts on it everyday so it's all good.
