I have lived here for 12 yrs, but been in this area since 95. We faired pretty good recently. Last time we had what I would call significant damage in my area was Isabelle in 03. KNocking on wood besides yard debris I have personally faired well, and besides a few downed trees so have the ppl around me.

Hope u don't mind the questions, but its nice to get a feel for the area from an un-bias person, (will explain that later).

I'm actually coming down ur way for a week & am leaving tomorrow. I will be right over that big bridge that goes underground. Not sure if I'm taking my jeep or going with others, but if I do then maybe we could meet up & fill in the answers to a dozen questions, lol!

I may be moving down ur way as early as Sept, so if u wanna take this to PMs or just email me at seniorxj@yahoo.com that would be awesome!!!

No its cool.. I live on the outer reaches of most clubs... so my opionions are very unbiased. I mostly only see ppl on the trail.. and when a club or individuals in a club are special or just jacked up.. I have no problems saying so.

ALso luckily I have the skills and tools to do 95% of my own work at home so really dont need a "club" for help if you know what I mean. Also live far enough out that most ppl wont travel if they need anything

Which big bridge that goes underground.. we have a couple of different bridge tunnels around here

No worries about the questions.. when you get in the area hit me up..

We may even be able to put together a meet and greet if you want.

WOW that would be awesome & i'll deff hit you up PingPong once im there!! I'm leaving Mon around noon & will be staying till the middle of next week give or take a day.

Its a 9hr drive from NY, so she's getting the full "Royal Purple" treatment down to there new Max-Clean & Purple Ice additives, new brake rotors with EBC pads, E3 plugs, & vents in the hood.

Already put in a HD clutch fan & a 195* Super Stat from Napa that made a huge difference as she stays south of the 210 mark in 94 deg, high humidity weather with the AC on blast! I'm looking forward to the synthetic swap & see how she fairs on my 35" claws for a straight 9hr drive!!

I'm headin out tomorrow, (mon the 5th), by noon the latest & should be in the area by 9pm. Were staying for a week & leaving around the 12th or 14th.

I think our location is somewhere about 15min away from Chesapeake Bay Bridge on the Eastern Shore somewhere near Virginia National Wildlife Refuge, or maybe the Kiptopeke State Park.

I will get an exact address tomorrow & post it up so that we can make a better plan for a meet & greet if the offer still stands!!! Even if its just 1 or 2 of u guys that would rock!!!

Thanks!!!

That's a little far for some of us plus the toll for the bridge is 12 bucks one way, but maybe some people would like to wander up that way. We will see what we can do.

Ok so the street address is:

124 Churchill Downs
Cape Charles, VA 23310

Which i'm pretty sure is in the "Bay Creek Resort & Club" since the house is being rented for the summer.

Since that's further then I thought, I have no issues with meeting u guys on the other end of the long Chesapeake Bay Bridge, say somewhere round V. Beach/Norfolk area, or u guys can just give me a street address on a neutral spot & I can GPS it as I don't mind driving extra!!

Let me know as i'll be there tonight sometime & we still need to set what day, what time, & a meet place!!

This is a big deal for me guys & I cant thank u & PingPong enough for ur hospitality so far, cause if I land up moving down there, there's only 2 things I NEED to setup! One is finding a Gracie BJJ place, & the other is a good solid club for me & my 1998 XJ!! (read signature)!

Hey guys whats up... didn't get in till 4:am but no matter, the XJ & i are in the area & am dying to get some sort of meet & greet going!!!

Broke a sway bar mount off the axle while hopping over some sort of divider on the highway when i missed an exit & decided to just go for it with a bit more speed then i shoulda, (LoL), so if anyone has a welder i can use that would be awesome!!!

Hit me up at seniorxj@yahoo.com so it goes to my phone as we'll be in & out thru out the week. We have plans to hit up Virginia Beach but not sure on the day, so let me know if u guys are still willing to meet up this week as that may weigh heavily on a decision to move to this area!!!

Ok well we still haven't set any plans yet as theres 10 of us, 5 adults & 5 kids, so making plans may prove to be difficult at best. I'll probably just peel off from them & ride solo. What clubs are u associated with down this way?

Wow man.. sounds like you had an adventure.

I will be do an axle sleeve install on a JK tommorow and will have my welding gear out and could help you out, but I am a LONG way from the bay bridge. like 3 hrs plus i think depending on traffic. If you are willing to comeout I will weld for you.

Thursday is tattoo day for me.. going to DC to get some more work on my sleeve done.. friday I will be around working on my new trailer. Sent you a pm with my number.. text/call if you like.

You're pretty close to my neck of the woods, I'm about 45 min up the road from you in Onancock, VA. Sucks you aren't down between Aug 23-26, that's the fun part of Jeep Week in Ocean City, MD (about 1 1/2-2hrs North of where ya are in Cape Charles). The Eastern Shore Jeep Association has a open land tour of their private wheeling land in Delmar, DE (about the same distance from you and 30 min or so from Ocean City. Plus one day they normally have an obstacle course setup at the Pocomoke City, MD fairgrounds. Last year it was a BLAST and would be a cool way to meet some Fellow Jeepers as well as get a little bit better idea what kind of wheeling to expect around here. My personal favorite place to be is on the beach, either down in Corolla or Carova Beach, NC or the MD side of Assateague Is just south of Berlin,MD.
