In the Syracuse area it started snowing Christmas eve and before it was done we got about 12 to 14". With the wind, it looked like a lot more than that! I was out delivering newspapers with my jeep and never got stuck. It was worse AFTER the plows because it was solid ice underneath. I had it in part time for better traction however. This wasn't lake effect powder. This was heavy wet stuff that packed down hard. This Friday night it was 1 degree above. The snow banks turned into cement! This winter is like it was 30 years ago. Back then, the middle 2 weeks in January the temp never got above 10 degrees. Global warming, HAH!

You mean we got "The Golden Snowball" back? Cool! For those of you that don't know, Syracuse has been in competition with Buffalo for the most snow each year. Of course, the winter ain't over yet!

I just had another brain fart! Wouldn't it be cool to set up a snow hill climb? I should think it'd be a blast! No really steep grades, but covered in deep snow. I know, watch out for skiers! Or a winter trail ride. Any ideas?

I just did that a couple weeks ago in Attica. It was a blast! And Feb 3rd there's a poker run on seasonal roads in Bath. I went last year and it was awesome. Plus when you're done there's 20 acres of obstacles to play on.

I was born a little more upstate. Jefferson Cty. Fort Drum/Watertown area. I live in NH now, but I absolutely LOVE it up there. The view from my uncles front porch is the same wild field/woods it has been for the past 30 years.... NOTHING has changed.
