man idk 35% is steeeeeep.

doubt we will ever get an official word, but for sure illegal temp water release...im going to be out as soon as the weather breaks doing some breeding habitat projects for the spawn, since DEP doesnt seem to give 2 ****s.

the whole 'streamlining' to increase profits thing is to blame. Ask the city of Pitt. what heppened when Veolia streamlined their drinking water infrastructure! Im sure 100K+ lead poisoned people will tell you!

DEP is so understaffed. I do a lot of work in the water and waste water industry. There are water plants a year or greater pass due for their annual DEP inspections. The plants have a dedicated and prideful staff making great water, but it just goes to show you, for the tax dollars we pay the gov isn't keeping their end of the deal. It's freaking drinking water my god!!!

i had awesome well water my whole life. Its more a matter of uhhh the remaining 90% or so of the population who is dependent upon city water that is of concern. We also get some odd well water samples in at my work. Cant say from where, but its not uncommon

Yea well water has its down sides. My friend had a horrible stomach sickness all the time. Throwing up and bed ridden randomly every once in while.

He actually handed a sample bottle of his well water for me to take with me on one of my York Water maintenance days. I gave the sample to the lab tech. I get with him two weeks later, he says "tell him to stop drinking it now, it has fecal coliforms". My buddy ran out that night and threw in a UV system. He's been fine ever since. Turns out it was the local farms cow **** was leaching into the well.

So with wells you do really have freedom from public water but more responsibility, responsibility not even one wants. Those who do, enjoy the reaps of "free" water (minus maintenance costs ofc).

in some municipalities, its required for a home seller to have water quality tested, but coliform is usually not req'd. Ha, go figure. Sometimes other sources leach into wells...check out the EPA Superfund site to see how close you live to one, it is not required to disclose this info during home sale. My grandparents farm outside middletown has Trichloroethylene in the well from a site. Lots of people died of stomach cancer, 0$ paid to the families.

Your friend is lucky he didnt get even sicker!

yea I work a few super funds, ex-lands fills before they decided to put liners in them. Even Harley Davdison is a super fund. Not Harley's fault, they inherited it.

and yes he is!

I didn't think it possible but I found a rust free 99 with 200k on it. Needs a possible headgasket though and a good scrubbing. Any one interested in it?

Ask Jake. I hear he is looking for a white Cherokee to go with his black one. So he won't be called a racist anymore he's tired of it

rant:

so, work has been slow, which is usual for this time of year. shop owner decides to run some specials, one of which is "half off all oil changes with coupon". we all think its great, maybe get some more customers in etc..... this was 2 weeks ago they came up with the idea, and yesterday it went into effect. well, today we are told "oh by the way, you guys are only getting paid half of your time for oil changes as well".....what in the literal FAWK is this ****? i went off..... im so pissed right now. I realize it doesnt sound like much, but an oil change isnt just an oil change, it includes tire pressures, test drives, a FULL vehicle check out(basicaly a safety inspection) and we would normaly get paid .6 of an hour, now we get .3 while this sale is going on. boss says "oh its only about 6 dollars per oil change".... whats it to them to give us the 6 bucks?!?
:rant over
