Hello all,

I'm Nando from the Westchester area in NY. Got my Jeep over the summer. I've fixed various things on it so far (both major and minor) and I'm thinking of getting a rear bumper with tire carrier option before the winter sets in. Would love to meet up with other Jeepers in the trip-state area. Haven't found any active clubs around here yet.

I'm not heavy on stickers but I definitely love this one!

Only sore spot on an otherwise good looking Jeep: rear bumper. The previous owner bought himself the Lexus parked in front and hooked it up. I love my XJ more.

Default Hey

Hey there from DE. Started the Re-build a few months ago with a lot more in the works. Lift and tires in the spring, zj rear brakes, wj knuckle swap etc. Glad to see some fellow wheelers in DE.

McGuire...hate that place. Good luck. And don't even think about pumping your own gas. I didn't know the rule my first TDY through there back in the 90s and got my *** handed to me by the attendant. Get a XJ, asap. You won't regret it. And they are unbeatable for the weather you may be facing soon. Unless you reply through the winter.

Hey, Westchester NY here too. I'm recently back in the area so I don't know of anywhere to wheel or any groups to tag along with... But I'm about to install some JCR sliders this weekend so I'll be desperate to try them out as soon as possible if anyone can point me in the right direction. I've got till January to get all the wheeling in I can before I head to the Coast Guard Academy for 5 months so hit me up ASAP

Hey xj_scuba, groups around here are hard to come by. I know the rock sliders you're talking about. They are sweet looking! I order their rear bumper. Those JCR folks are great. As for wheeling, you probably have to head out to PA, Rausch Creek off road park. Good luck in the Coast Guard Academy. If I had to do it all over again, I would've join them. Got my pilots license and would've LOVED to fly their Dauphins.

I just got the sliders on and they seem like they can take a beating. JCR is turning out some great stuff. Have you gotten your bumper yet? Ive seen plenty of pictures from Rausch Creek but never been. How intense are the trails there and are they only open on certain days for events or are they always open? And thanks but I'm not actually joining the CG, NOAA Corps (a nonmilitary uniformed service) does their officer training at the CG facilities and along side their officer candidates.

Throw some pics on those installed sliders! I haven't gotten my bumper yet
Once they finish the powder coat they'll send me an email letting me know when they ship it. After that, it'll be the tire carrier! I'll post those on the "What have you done to your jeep today?" thread.

As for Rausch, I have no info on them but you can find it here as it seems that some of the members have gone there. You can also see a ton of Youtube videos of people enjoying themselves on the trails. Go check it out. If I hear anything regarding wheeling or meet ups in the area, I'll PM ya! Happy training!

Rausch is awesome. 3000+ acres of trails from mild to "Are you serious?"

They have some mud/dirt trails, but the park is mostly catered to rock crawling

Greens are doable in a stock jeep with decent tires. Expect rocks, water, and off camber washouts
Blues i would suggest 3", 31s, and good tires, and armor
Blacks i'd suggest full skids and 33s

http://rc4x4.org/
They are open Fri-Sun except winter when they are open only weekends.
Free camping on site (first come first serve), or they have a deal with the comfort inn down the road for $60/night

Rausch is on my wheeling bucket list. I want to do those comp courses and the glacier rock garden. It's just really far and an expensive park.
