On a side note. Replacing my fuel pump tomorrow evening on a dirt road on the farm. It's been sitting out there for a week. Couldn't have happened in a better place. Wish me luck.

Took the heap for a test drive after everything was put back together, minus the a/c lines. These will be hooked up by the dealer tomorrow when it's recharged.
While on the test drive, I was getting a weird steady fast tapping coming from the engine area. It would only do it when the heap was moving. It would stop if i turned left. I thought it was a fan shroud, but its not. Sounds like it's right at the fire wall, but its hard to tell since its only doing it when moving. Fingers crossed it goes away once the lines are hooked back up.

Fuel pump replaced. She roared back to life. A fuel pump swap in a shop or driveway is a piece of cake. Out in a field with the sun going down, not so much. Took about an hour.
I was surprised that advance didn't sell the whole assembly. I had to remove and replace the actual pump and filter from the assembly and then reinstall.

I found out what the noise was. My driver side wheel bearing just so happen to go out exactly when I put everything back together. No signs of failure previous. So now I get to replace that... JEEP (just empty every pocket)
On a positive note, the dealer didn't charge me to recharge my A/C!!!

The 96 fuel pump is a special unicorn. Its a one year only setup. They do sell full drop in pumps but they're very expensive and they only just recently became available. Before they weren't available at all. http://www.quadratec.com/products/51306_0147.htm
