Would you guys say a steering box is a one man one day noob friendly job? Or do I need to wave beer around to coax one of you to come down here? Lol

It's pretty simple, does the new box already have a pitman arm on it?

Got a line on a replacement engine but was hoping a top end rebuild would be easier. Now not so sure.

I got a brand new 4.7 I can let go pretty cheap, comes with a WJ attached.

Where do you guys have your amps mounted?

I have 4 6.5" speakers with tweeters and crossovers, and have a 12" shallow sub. Sub box, 5 channel amp and new head unit are coming next week.

The rear speakers will be in a pre-97 soundbar. The fronts are either going back in the doors or staying in another pre 97 soundbar.

Also, anyone know about or have re-wrapped the soundbars in cloth? And/or reinforce them? Because the one I have in the front sags a little now

I had my amp in a false floor behind the passenger seat. Reinforcing the soundbar can be done with anything stronger than the soundbar itself. Could use wood, flat stock, angle iron, etc

Once you remove the rear light in the sound bar, you will see a metal stud attached to the roof. It has a star washer that often come loose. Grab the star washer with some needle nose pliers and push up. That should fix it.
I reinforced my sound bar with strips of plywood on the inside for strength.

His pre 97 sound bar is in his 1998 XJ just behind the front seats. So there is no mount for the light like in the rear of a pre 97.

any pictures? and that is true. I'm going to have to take both of the bars out anyway to mount in the crossovers, cut the hole for the rear speakers and to rewire the speakers anyway.

yeah, plus I don't have one of those in the rear anyway, as my Jeep did not come with it.
