Welcome to the forum! Sadly we don't have literal 1000-post off-topic random threads here in the Maine section like they do in the NY and FL sections haha

Being a Florida boy all the way up in Mass now... I can vouch for this lol. "Wheeling discussions" turned viral meme sharing hub

Default Any Mainahs?

Just bought a '03 cherokee w/122xxx. The stud mill road and area from Old Town to Calais is big! Drive, camp, find lodging around the area. I have a family home in Grand Lake Stream and my uncle always said there were miles and miles of miles and miles.

I've always wanted to investigate that area but it's a long way from Leeds.

Amongst those miles and miles are lots of places to camp both established and just not often traveled. I have camped twice between Rt. 9 and Rt. 1, another big fun ride, for moose hunts. Week long base camp off the beaten path informal sites.

Soooo it's almost inspection time for me...And I was reading the inspection handbook...Coil spacers are illegal. As are tires that rub the lcas. And that have tread outside the fenders...So it looks like if I wanna run 31s after my lift, I need to drop a couple hundred on wheels with less backspacing, and then to counter that I'd need bushwhackers or something...ugh. Unless I can figure out that adjustment screw thing

Yet I know a lot of people who run the spacers...Maybe it only means the under-coil ones?? Also, it mentions shackle extensions are illegal in the front...So am I to believe that I can lift the rear of a YJ with shackles, but need new springs or add a leafs for the front?! Ohhh I see. I think it's talking about adding shackles on your shackles, not just longer shackles, which are okay I take it?

Ugh I'm so done with this state's laws. They closed down All Wheels Off Road Park, on the grounds that apparently the land isn't like approved to run a business on (even though the whole place was run off of $10 per person(or truck?) donations)...That was the only off road park I know of within an hour and a half...

ME4x4 is going to Rocky Mountain Terrain Park this Sunday. Its in Carthage, which is a longer ride, but better park. He has campsites, and a nice mess hall where he cooks, etc. Trails are pretty awesome too.
