Thanks but I think I am done with it for a lil. Just started having the stupid hesitation fault so I will have to start troubleshooting it prolly a 02 sensor I will keep yall posted.

Man, I can't tell you how much I love those old Waggys. My dream is to find one in primo shape.
Congrats to you for the time/effort. I spent 12 hours on Tuesday with a Jeep buddy putting on a new front bumper and a gas tank skid and I was feelin' sorry for myself.
After seeing all that rust, I don't feel so bad.

Got a lil bored today and decided to see what it would take to put on my front engine skid. Due to the Hi-country shackles I had to modify the skid a lil. Had to notch out a 1x1 piece on each corner so it would sit

Just a lil section on the two corners. They hit the Hi-country brackets. You can't even tell i cut it now it looks like it was made that way. I used a angle grinder with a cutting disc.

OK, I woke up a lil motivated today. Last week I went and bought some thin sheet metal to finish patching up some exterior holes. Jeeps been running great so time to make her look a lil better also.
This is the hole. Ugly right...
Got some poster paper and sketched out my piece.
Transferred it to some Sheet metal from Home Depot. That sheet was 8 bucks...
Didn't measure the angles to well just kinda Eyeballed it but it worked fine. Banged out some crease on a block of wood.
Then stuck her in place. I had to take it back off a few times a bang it a lil more but eventually she fit good. Rubbed some RTV around the edge to seal it in.
Riveted it down
Put a coat of Primer on it till I decide what to do next.
Also did a hole in the front that look like crap.

Got really motivated after my holes were fixed so I talked the ole lady into letting me to the bottom finally.
45 bucks at walmart
Spent a good thirty minutes scuffing everything up on the top since if you don't prep it don't stick.
Taped everything up... pretty simple to do this job.
Then I just started spreading it on like paint. Real simple and cheap for that much protection.
This is the first coat ofcourse...
I ended up doing two coats on it and I will put a third on in the morning then pull the tape off and get some more pics.
Jeep really looks weird now but maybe it is just a drastic change and will grow on me. Kinda makes me want to paint the wheel Black now. Or the top white. Any Thoughts.
