I use to have the code for the gate. But that was 2009 and I am sure that things are different now. Was real fun back then for sure.

I found some great trails out near Sylacauga last weekend. If you take 77 to a small county road called 600-1 there are some great spots to look out and plenty of side trails to take up and down the sides of this ridge.

I ended up getting a huge crack in my radiator about halfway through and couldn't explore much more while being towed out but I plan to go back out there some time soon. Ill post some pictures up here of the trip we took.

Jeep will be fixed tomorrow (either after or before the radiator cracked the water heater shut off valve also split) and I'll be ready to get out there again

I had some trouble myself on my first trip out. Jeep runs and drives great on the highway, we turned off the asphalt and found that the trans just couldnt handle climbing hills. So looks like a trans rebuild for me before I can do any wheeling.

Is the 4wd engaged? Transfer case working? Seems like you would have issues on road as well. The AW4 is a pretty strong transmission and it takes a lot of abuse and neglect to kill one.

Yeah its in 2wd. I wont say its perfect on road tho. Best to keep speed up for small hills and no rabbit stops. Trying to accelerate produces a loud squeel from the trans like a belt slipping.

Probably needs a band, or have the band tightened. Not sure if these are adjustable though. Either way, pretty sure you will need to pull the trans.

Im going to try a used trans from lkq. Its worth a shot for under $300 and a warranty.

So my transfer case kind of exploded, I'm planning to go to pick-a-part to get another one but if this doesnt work out does anyone know a shop in central AL (preferably near Pell City) that would be able to do the work? I work 70 hours a week typically and won't really have the time to get this thing installed if I am able to find one.

Any help would be great, thanks.

Looks like it was dry as a bone. Less than a quart of fluid in it during routine maintenance woulda prevented this most likely.......

But, you have to check that stuff. Who has the time?

I have a friend with one in GA. His has a broken front shaft. You could piece the two together and have one working one.

Anybody in the near area have any of these parts? Looking for front seats in gray/charcoal/black and a driver side seatbelt buckle.
