Well, unfortunately, my 7 year relationship with my Cherokee has come to an end. It was my first car ever but now that I have to commute nearly 100 miles a day, it's just not going to work and I don't have the room for it.

I am torn on how much to ask for it. I was surprised to see some of the prices of Cherokees in my market (Chicagoland)--they have been much lower than I expected given that the used car market seems high right now.

Well, here are the details:
-1998 2DR Cherokee Sport 4x4
-211,xxx miles
-Auto
-Towing package
-Front and rear skids
-3" Rough Country AAL (I was broke)
-31" Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs (have some (not serious) inner wall wear but have been fine for about 30,000)
-Custom front bumper (1/4" steel tubing (weighs about 150 lbs))
-No performance upgrades

Condition:
-Rockers are almost completely rusted out
-2 dime sized rust spots on the body--they only appear to be through the paint
-Crack across the windshield from the top passenger corner down past the rear view mirror
-The exhaust ends after the cat
-The driver's side window doesn't work (the motor works, it's just that stupid worm gear is detached from the bracket)
-Slight antifreeze leak from water pump housing
-Saggy headliner (I hear it happens with old age )

The good news is it still runs great!

Nothing that is wrong with it is very serious--she just needs some TLC.

I'm just looking to see what everyone's thoughts are on what I can get for it. KBB said $2,185 in fair condition to a private party. Edmunds said $1,149 in rough condition and $1,556 in average condition (I feel the KBB one was more extensive though).

Or, who in the Chicagoland wants to come take it off my hands? I might just drive it into the river.

I'm thinking asking $2,000 right now and seeing how that goes over.

I will try to update this with better photos/details if I get a chance, but they've been working be like a rented mule at work lately and I don't have much free time.

Thanks for any input.
