Oh well, the way I am looking at it is sell, save, restart in a year or two.
Depending on how extreme your plans were, might be better off, pulling anything useful and building a buggy

That sucks, man!

Not that it will do any good now, but since mine is not my DD, I've taken to pulling the ASD or Starter relay from under the hood. They would have to use a flatbed to take it.

What are you thinking of asking for the engine?

Yeah, that would be fun but I don't have a place to do it anymore. It's all good though, it will allow me to have a fresh start in a few years to do it differently now that I know a lot more.

Yeah, I have a few ideas on how I would do the security of the jeep. Just wasn't careful enough I guess.

I am hoping for 2 k considering I have over 3 k in it. That way I can make back some of the money. I would probably entertain offers though.

Default Sad Day

I have been putting this off for a while but I need to sell or part out my Jeep. Figured I would post here first and see if there is any interest and or advice. I plan to list it on CL after it is running. It needs a new water pump and I am hoping to have that done soon but due to medical problems I am unable to do it myself. Here are some specifics and pics.

The Good:

1989 2 door XJ Laredo with 4.0 and AX15 and around 135k
Up Country Package - 1" lift, skid plates, tow hooks, and limited slip diff
Air Conditioning converted to Freeze 12 and works great
Hidden Hitch with trailer wiring
K&N air filter
Gibson Cat Back exhaust
New Brown Dog motor mounts and brackets
PIAA 520 ATP 135 watt off road lights in chrome housings
Zombie Light switch for 520's and another pre wired for fog lights
New starter and 100 amp alternator within the last 18 months
AGM Battery with 120 min reserve
2 sets of original AMC/Jeep keys
AMAZING Stereo -
Alpine CDA 9887 running 3 way internal cross over Aux input and older style Ipod connection Focal component speakers and 10" Bazooka RS powered by a JL 5ch amp
Grey interior is in great shape
New Rims with 30" BFG ATs lots of tread left and Matching 235/75R15 Spare

The Bad:

Has not run for a month and a half or 2
Needs water pump
Limited slip dana 35 with 3.07 gears probably needs to be replaced
Needs alignment
Rear brakes pads need to be replaced or maybe adjusted
Headliner material falling
Cracked windshield
Was keyed down both sides
Tires rub a little when suspension is flexed
Fuel gauge hasnt read properly since fuel pump was replaced

I have probably left stuff out both good and bad but its been a little while since I've driven it and my memory isnt the greatest lol. I really hate to get rid of it but with my physical problems I really shouldn't be driving it anymore. If you would like to see it message me here or call/text 505-366-8501. If you are able to replace a water pump for a reasonable price please contact me as well.

This looks like a sweet XJ man. I bet you won't have a hard time selling it. The Sandia's in the background makes a nice selling point

I was going to say I can do the water pump if you haven't done it already.

Break In Warning and Potential Part Out / Sale

A few weeks back I parked my white 96 Cherokee up top of the crest going camping. When I returned someone had smashed out 3 windows with a rock and was dumb enough to miss the drivers window at least twice hitting the door. Once they had access to the inside they helped themselves to quite a bit of my climbing gear. On the up side I recovered a small sport bag, The bulk of trad climbing gear and heavy duty mountaineering tents remain missing. I've driven and taken the bike out on the crest a few times in hops of finding the remainder. If you know of someone attempting to pawn off a large trad climbing rack please let me know. Gear is marked in orange and blue or green.

Now for the Jeep. Insurance has mentioned totaling the Jeep since it is so old. I'm not expecting MetLife to be fair in evaluating its value. Before the windows were busted out I'm confident it would sell for $6-6.5K all day long on the low end based upon other well kept Cherokees. I started an excel file documenting all the upgrades and stopped when it passed $13K. This does not include the tires or brand new in the box header. Insurance Investigator is coming out in two weeks and do not know what to expect. The Jeep is to nice to be taken off the road over glass and body damage. Think the tipping point is the recent addition of Rigid Industry lights front and back. Bought these lights grey market for cash getting a better price, but grey market also is causing issues since there is not a credit card record.

If I could get a fair price for the Cherokee before insurance totals it that would be a win / win for all of us.

Your better off just keeping it I have a at least one window, sitting in the shop that taking up space, the others no biggie jy all day the door on the other hand someone not really going to care that much depending on the dent, for what you have on that jeep I wouldnt part it. If your still at the house I'll roll by tomorrow after I get my alignment done.

Thanks for the glass. Jeep is back on the road (and trail). We got to test the Jeep out on the trail this past weekend a bit deeper than intended. Thankfully the sway bar was disconnected and it was in 4wd before we started. Back end sank in the mud and I did not think we would pull it out. Now thinking of trying to find a cheap locker for the 8.25 rear diff.

I run a lokka in my 8.25 and would recommend one.
