Hey Jr. How is it doing a rebuild on the aw4? ever done it? Would you be interested in helping me with one, I know you have like every tool in the world, and are pretty knowledgeable with XJs. I honestly don't even know if its necessary but I have noticed it shifting differently

Nope never have. Have you adjusted your kick down cable lately? I have always wanted to but if I'd would rebuild one it would be mine first so if I screw up its only my mess.

The AW4 is as easy as any other automatic rebuild. My advice, find a Toyota Supra with the AW30-60 and grab the set of shift solenoids out of it. The AW30-60 is identical to the AW30-40 (AW4) except larger shift solenoids and thicher clutches n steels. These two things along with Transgo's new shift kit will really beef up and wake up the stock AW4. I'm no longer running an auto so I don't mind sharing a few of my secrets that helped me out the past 5 years. [emoji3]

Is it a real noticable difference with the supra parts and the shift kit?

So what its doing.

Ill be on it full throttle and it'll like lose power then shift. Before It would shift harder with no feeling of loss in power first. Could this be the kick down cable? I did remove the TB to clean it off and get and add a TB spacer, Could that of caused the issue? Its shifting fine just different and not as aggresive as it would. loss a race because of it lol
