Just a follow up...
After checking out several Jeep rental locations in Moab, looks like we will be going with Farabee's. The two "more difficult than easy" trails we want to do is Fins and Things and/or Hell's Revenge, and we need a 4-door rig.
Canyonlands and Moab Adventure Center seem to be combined, they have the same address. Reasonable rates and the rigs look decent (not just based on their pictures). But they have trail restrictions..Fins and Things is the most difficult trail they will allow.
Moab Tour Company also has good rates, and appear to have decent rigs but they also have a restricted trail list, and Hell's Revenge is on it.
Cliffhanger appears to have well-equipped Jeeps, but their rates are higher, and I have read of more complaints with them, but these complaints seem to be from novices. Does anyone have any more info or opinions on Cliffhanger rentals?
Farabee's is, of course, well known, but in some of the YouTube videos I have seen, the tires on the Farabee equipment look very worn (yes, I know rock-crawling is rough, the granite we have in the Appalachian foothills eats tires too), but they list Hell's Revenge in their trails.
Did I miss a rental company?
With some luck, next year or the following a tow vehicle and trailer will be ready to bring my XJ out, and we can really explore Moab, and hopefully get to meet some of you.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Looks like you've done your homework! I have never really looked into the rentals (cause I live so close! ), but good luck on you trip!
Make sure when you're ready to tow your jeep out there you post up on our northern UT BS thread, & see when we are planning a trip out. That way we can show you around a bit!

Brief Trip follow-up
You guys have some AWESOME places to 4-wheel, hands down. We flew into Phoenix, got a 4-Hi only 2010 Grand Cherokee(grumble), and headed to Flagstaff, took in Eden Mountain and several other forest roads around Flagstaff. Then we spent two days in Sedona, hitting Broken Arrow, Soldier Pass, Outlaw Trail, and Diamondback Gulch (aka Greasy Spoon), along with Schnebly Hill Road (AND the rocky top loop) with my wife in one rental and I drinving the other (kudos to Barlows for great equipment).
Then we headed to Moab, while taking a detour through Monument Valley and running the Valley of the Gods road at Mexican Hat. Once we got to Moab, we went ahead and knocked out Hurrah Pass in the Grand Cherokee (recent rains made that one a little rough with street tires and no 4-low), then picked up the Farabee's rental.
Then we hit Gemini Bridges (shelf road was washed out pretty bad), and Long Canyon, and the southern portion of Fins and Things, and the "baby" Lions Back, and called it a night. The next day we ran all of the Fins and Things in the AM, but by then, my family was a little over-whelmed by trails in Moab, and wanted a break.
So they went shopping in Moab, while I, being in Moab for the first (and maybe only time) went and ran Hell's Revenge full solo...I was the only Jeep I saw out there, so no Hell's Gate for me, but I did the Tip-over challenge and the easiest looking one of the hot tubs. Once again, the nightly rains made the shelf road on the exit pretty rough (least to me), I had to get out and stack rocks twice to clear the pumpkins with the 33's on the rental since I had no spotter. After returning the rental, the next day we went to Arches Nat. Park via Willow Springs road, a fun trip in an SUV, even with 4-Hi only. We checked out some more of the park, and then had to head back to Flagstaff, where I managed to squeeze in a few more forest roads before heading to catch the plane in Phoenix.
I hope to come back, the 4-wheeling is awesome...they actually WANT people using their 4x4 vehicles!
Great place and great trails...and there are so many of them I did not get to do.

Phoenix area Jeep Rentals
Hey guys, We are going to Phoenix in early March to visit my step-son and wanted to try some of the trails in the Sedona area like Outlaw Trail. Can anyone recommend a good rental place? I have seen the Barlow Adventures website already. Are there others in the area? Thanks in advance.
