I almost lost her to parvo back when she was a pup, and I think that it has led to some other health issues. My newest one is 10 months, and she is a lab/pit mix, which is not what I was told when I picked her out!! No matter, she is super sharp, just a little high strung right now!! She loves to play ball, and swim, as do both of the others. Ginger, the fawn, loves to play ball, but does not bring it back!! Her version is more like keep away!! Khalua, the oldest, was the baddest ball dog I've ever seen!! She would run routes, and followed hand signals, she was a lot of fun to play with!! She has bad hips now, so I have to be very careful how much running I let her do, because if she over does it, she is crippled for a few days after, and it kills me!! I absolutely love them all, and they are awesome dogs that deserve no of the bad press they get. It is really all in how they are raised, period!! I have three female pits in my house at all times, and I never had a fight, period!! So the people that think they are blood thirsty death machines are full of crap, and I'd love to personally kick the crap out of them!! Sorry, I get a little passionate about this topic, hence my sig!!

Thanks bro, I appreciate the good thoughts!! I hope you have a great time at Moab dude!!

Don't even get me started on dogs, especially Pits and the Bull breeds. They are my passion!! And now I train protection dogs, and am also a decoy/helper for a Schutzhund club. Lots of work, but has taught me so much about the canine species.

I grew up w/Pits since I was a kid. They are the most incredible dogs. Kyle, aside from being great pets, they are amazing working dogs!! Props to all the good PB homes. I can't have one cuz I live in Denver, but I have Boxer and she is awesome.

DJ, you just went up a couple of rungs on my ladder brother!! hats off to you man!!

The breed specific ban in Denver, or any town for that matter, makes me want to puke!! Pits kill people, well so do murderers, so lets ban them too!! God, this gets me going, I should talk about fluffy bunnies or something!!

BTW, Mike, where are you located??

Lol.. thanks. Everyone in our club is anti BSL. It makes no sense and all who propose it in legislation have no understanding about canine behavior. Zilch. Zero. Nada. The major problem w/dogs today is everyone wants the "look" but can't handle the breed and so problems start and the dogs are who pay for it. All breeds were bred for a purpose and all have their unique traits and instincts. You have to truly understand and know your breed to keep it and society safe. Ok Ok.. I'll stop lol. Kyle and Mike, there are some very cool sites I frequent about PBs if you guys ever want to check them out..

I know of one I used to go on all of the time, but now that I need to...I can't remember it!! The guy puts out a newletter, and I was subscribed to it for awhile. I didn't agree with everything he said, but I definitely agreed with his over all intention!! Share the sites, if you don't mind.

Yeah, I hear ya. The thing about Pits, is they have a dog fighting background and you have to understand that. Thank God it is now illegal, but the courage and determination from fighting pedigrees still exist in many Pits today. Doesn't make them bad dogs at all, they just have to be monitored around other dogs. Simple. The dogs w/those instincts and drives make incredible working and sport dogs though. That drive can be channeled into drug detection, schutzhund, agility, frisbee, you name it (I love dogs, but working dogs are really what I'm into).

IMO, this lady has done more for the breed than anyone else. She tells you the straight up truth about the PB and all it's history and future. Here is her site http://www.workingpitbull.com/ Click on "real pitbulls". It's an interesting article.

She is also part of this group which is amazing. They use abandoned Pits and evaluate their drives and train them to work for police departments. It was amazing positive press for the Bullys, but unfortunately they ran out of funds. Hopefully they'll get going again. http://www.lawdogsusa.org/home.html

Sorry Seth, didn't mean to sidetrack your BS thread too much lol. Nice LAs btw.

Well I am back my wifey kicked me off the computer.I am in California. I know for a fact that the county sheriff here has a shoot on site if they are being aggressive.I almost lost my 165 lb Bullmastiff to rookie because he couldn't tell the differance of what she was.The media has wrecked them.1/2 if not 3/4 or more of the so called attacks by pits around here are by mixes. Back yard breeding it needs to be stoped.

1 million %. That and show breeders are what have ruined breeds in the US.
