Default cage or link rear

What to do first on the heep. Do I cage the jeep with a hybrid first, and have the feeling of being safe wheeling and not worry about rolling over. Or do I link the rear first, and have more flex and enjoy the ride more. Jeep will still be a DD for atleast another year and a half. So Im leaning more towards linking rear, and i wont be doing to crazy of trails still.

Hybrids are silly...you still destroy the jeep in a roll . A cage like Josh's is the idea of what you want, if you don't want one big dent sitting on some 35's and lockers . I'd say cage it ,so it will last longer .

I wouldn't do one like joshs cage. I want a hybrid and thats the kind I would build. Idc about damaging the jeep. IDE rather be safe as I don't really care what happens to the jeep. My life and lady's are way more important

Then why a hybrid cage?...just buy a cheap prefab internal like D&C and add to it . What would you be doing for rear links building or buying ?

I'm not going to buy a cage for like 400 then add another 200 300 worth of tubing to it when I could of just built from scratch to start for like 400. And I would be building my own link set up.

And a hybrid because theres that much more room inside which I want. Plus I like the halo idea on the roof to lean the jeep onto and slide it on

Then it sounds like you really want coils ...but remember linking a rear is easy ,but getting one that works like mine is not ...If you see Chinakee's rig twist then mine you'll instantly see I'm sitting very level and stable ,and his looks like a leaning tower .

If you do the hoops inside and an external halo I don't see you getting a ton of room either...Or do you plan to do those external ?

I don't see him killing himself at 1-3 mph and flopping ,but driving the Jeep after a flop on roof with no protection will suuuuuuck . BUT why does everyone think coil links are for getting flex...sure they offer the potential ,but what they really offer done rite is traction/stability ...if done rite...But his rig works extremely well now ,so I'd cage it then it will still be in 1-piece to link later on .

I have to disagree with the first part of your statment 1ton.

I have been wheeling for about 13 years and have seen some violent rolls at very low speeds. More than one resulting in a trip to the hospital......just sayin
