Being about an hour and a half from Moab, close to Montrose, Ouray, and other western slope destinations, not to mention the wheeling in GJ. I'm sure it's awesome.

There's a little bit of everything over here... easy sunday cruising trails for scenic views all the way to extreme rock crawling (check out "Billings Canyon Grand Junction" and "21 Road Grand Junction" on youtube ) . The only down part is there are only a handful of these trails, but luckily Moab is only 2 hours away!
How about on your end of the state?

Rampart can be fun for those quick day trips not far from the Denver area. I like the Illinois Gulch area, but I haven't been farther south than that in a while.

well, since you asked nicely... I'm in the springs, try to get up old stage/ gold camp rd. every chance I can get. Saran Wrap is a little tricky in the snow JS...
I thought Rampart Range was closed... Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm use to it.

I know what you mean. I lived here in CO for about 8 yrs then moved to Louisiana after Katrina to help rebuild. Moved around a bit since then and found myself back in New Orleans. Bought an XJ there, finding a 4wd was difficult. Built it while living there with the intentions of wheeling it here in CO eventually. Finally moved back last summer after the GF graduated college. Me and my XJ couldn't be happier!

There are a few good spots in the County to wheel...Carnage/Chinamans ...wheeler lake has a few fun lines also ,but I tend to go to denver area to get my wheeling in at buckley and Colorado Mills ...
