LED land
Well, I popped the $375, yes, $375, shipped on Ebay, for the Truck-Lite 27450C Single Rectangular LED 5" X 7" Headlights from Drivetrain America. I just did the math, by the time I buy decent upgraded Hella housings, bulbs, and a harness, then figure in how many bulbs am I going to buy over the next ten years and that these are brighter, DOT legal, and last longer.....well, it makes sense to do it this way, that's a lot of pop to drop but I'm off to the Baja in two weeks and I need the light for the beach, at night, and the occasional taco run to town of an evening. Let me tell you about off road heaven buddy, where there are few fences, no rangers, no cops, and no rules (good thing I tread lightly eh?, well mostly). Rocks?, check, sand?, check, mud?, once in a while but you gotta clean that krapp off, quicksand? check, be careful down by the lagoon, scream down the beach at 65 mph? check, be polite to the touristas and fishermen. We love it, we're a little past halfway south of San Felipe on the way to Puertocitos, kilometer 35, El Vergel Campo on the beach, that's heaven my friends. And to those of you who are thinking 'I bet he get's his head chopped off or shot by druglords or at least goes to jail for picking his nose while driving and has to pay a $5000 fine', my dad took me there in 1967, I've been down at least twice a year since then, we built a house, no one took it, they won't be able to, they never will, and I've never so much as gotten intestinal distress once, and I eat at every damn taco stand I can find from Ensenada to Catavina to Gonzaga Bay to Guererro Negro to Tecate, yes my friends, the Baja is bada$$. I'll post about the lights when I mount them (no. not like that!), I meant install them, cheers all

Got the LED's, installed and they stayed on high beam, called the company, they overnighted two more, same thing. I took em to Mexico like that, just aimed them down a bit, now I'm back, they are friggin brilliant, long throw super white light, but still stuck on high beam, flick the switch and no difference?? what the heck? Actually, it appears that they have both high and low on all the time, no difference when i hit the switch to change them, I gotta get this figured out.....
