Default Stolen 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo #2ZIM786 - Oakland, CA

Hi everyone -

First post here, and unfortunately not a happy one. On the night of January 1, our 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo was stolen in the lower Glenview District of Oakland, CA. We only bought this car a few weeks prior for our family-to-be and had *just* gotten the pink slip in the mail and put a baby car seat in it 1-1/2 days before it got stolen, so we're pretty upset to say the least. If anyone happens to come across this car, PLEASE let me or Oakland Police Department (Case #12-000213) know! Many thanks!

1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo - 4 door, automatic
License plate #2ZIM786 - VIN #1J4FJ58SNL125828
Light blue color, all stock, all intact, really nice condition, no exterior body damage, no windows broken when the car was stolen.
May have a Graco baby seat in the back seat.

I seriously doubt anything will ever come of this, but we're really sad about this and I'm just trying to put the word out to as many places as I can think of! Will post a photo of the car when I get home tonight.

Haha, yeahhhh - everyone we talked to told us that...after the fact. Live and learn, we'll know better if we ever get it back!
Thanks a million for the reposts, by the way.

The part that makes me saddest is that my husband is so destroyed by this - he's from Malawi, one of the poorest countries in Africa, and I don't think he ever in a million years would have imagined driving, much less ever owning a car. He was so super proud of it....can't believe that this happened, and especially after only owning it for three weeks. *sigh*

Anyway, here's a pic of it in case anyone happens to see it....

Update...the car was found today in a neighborhood about 2 miles from our house. Relatively intact, the worst of the damage being that they stole both passenger side doors and the catalytic converter and muffler, as well as more minor things like the spare tire set up, radio (which was just an old cassette deck anyway) and the back plate and registration tag.

Gonna have some eyes out for some doors at the Pick and Pull and such...in case we don't come across any, are there any other resources where I might find a couple of doors???

The pick n pull in Newark is showing that they have 12 Cherokees in the yard, so if you can make down that way you will definitely get your doors.
glad you got it back.
