Limited Slip or Locker?
I have a 92 Cherokee Limited with a standard rear end. I am tired of having one wheel spin and the other just set there. I am contimplating putting a limited slip differential into it, but then the thought of a locker came up. I don't do much off road other than forest service roads, but I do drive in the snow. My XJ has 172K miles on it, so I am not looking to put a bunch of money into it. What are my options??..Bill

for the low cost, ease and low maintenance, do a lunchbox locker.
installing a limited slip requires a new carrier, therefor a gear setup is needed.
sure, you could source out a complete lsd axle, but you don't know the condition unless you rebuild it.
locker acts very similar to a lsd in the snow. you just have to get used to the characteristics of having both rear wheels breaking loose.
